They aren’t screaming because he’s conservative but because he isn’t Garland.

Nothing in the piece either changes or addresses the long understood reality that every single path to power the hard left has requires disarmament early on.

Open borders was a fool’s errend and it exposed leftist operatives on this forum. Why push something so stupid and dangerous that it was bound to fail and damage them badly? Because they need a larger armed force than the populace if the populace refuses to be dissarmed.

The flood of illegals was going to give the republican candidate who could credibly address the issue the republican nomination. That was clear three years ago.

And here we are.

Pushing harder left creates a power vacuum.

Someone help me out here. Seems to me the author lost his way about halfway through. It changed from “fear in the Democratic party, as the left pulls it further leftward,” to “the war between Trump and the press is bad for the republic.” I’m left without a clear thesis in the article.

I’d read the piece but the links are returning a “Page Not Found” message.

AGREED! The commies on both sides of the aisle expended all of their “power” attempting to prevent Mr. Trump’s election. Also, total negative propaganda + typical demonrat massive voter fraud failed to achieve her heinous’ coronation. More blah . . . blah . . . blah . . . from Pravda west.

That’s why I’m highly dubious Hillary would ever get the nomination a 2nd time, if she were to run again...the Bernie wing/progressives would justifiably go berserk. If by some off-chance she were to be the dems candidate in 2020, they would not be “with her” again!

All of these protests are forcing the Democrats to go even harder left than they were.

Predictable overreach, since it the only thing they are capable of doing, and the only thing they have ever done in every Leftist Revolution in the last 100 years.... and very very good for our side. Rational people are seeing their growing insanity for what it is in ever-increasing numbers. Liberal Portland just last week saw bystanders yelling at protestors blocking traffic, and cheering the SWAT team that took the snowflakes down within seconds.

The entire piece is actually fairly insightful.

Indeed, and surprisingly so.

More like the past 200 years. The Jacobins of the French Revolution ate their own too during the Reign of Terror in order to keep themselves in power. Google for 'Committee of Public Safety'.

There power is literally rooted in protests as they believe they were the force that removed LBJ from running a second term, and of course Nixon. Add to their “successful” Hands Up Don’t Shoot (back while we kill cops) campaign....

In the end, the crybaby filthy out in the streets and airports, that are allowed to flourish and go unpunished are definitely going to run all the less radical dems out of the party.

>> People eventually become tired of hysteria when the things they believe are happening don’t happen.

You would think that, but history says otherwise. We went from impending ice age, to global warming to climate change and the greenies remain hysterical while pivoting from one to the next without as much as batting an eyelash. I remember in the 70s we were all going to die of famine due to overpopulation. Didn’t happen.

The reason this works so well for the left is because the doom they predict is always terrible, scary, but over the horizon. It is never something they predict that will happen tomorrow or next week. So it can never really be tested. By the time the “deadline” arrives, it has faded from memory.

In the 70s, they said we would have 7 billion people on earth by 2000 and that we couldn’t survive that. WRONG.

In the 70s they predicted that by 2000 75-80% of all species would be extinct. WRONG.

And I’ve forgotten how many times they predicted that we would be out of oil long before now. WRONG.

But they are still pushing these ideas onto a frightened and hysterical public. They get them in the schools and frighten the living daylights out of kids.

Why? Because a frightened public is easier to control. They are all to happy to look to the nanny state government elites to “save” them. And the elites are more than happy to oblige if we would just pay them more in taxes and give them more control over our lives.

(How do you think we managed to avoid all those disasters? Low flow toilets, carbon credits, and curly light bulbs. We should be thanking the democrats for saving us from destruction. /s)
