Ted Cruz Statement on Firing of Acting Attorney General
Facebook ^

Posted on 01/30/2017 8:03:02 PM PST by springwater13

After eight long years of a lawless Obama Department of Justice, it is fitting--and sad--that the very last act of the Obama DOJ is for the Acting AG to defy the newly elected President, refuse to enforce the law, and force the President to fire her. Sally Yates now joins the ignominious succession, from Eric Holder to Loretta Lynch, of Attorneys General who put brazen partisan interests above fidelity to law.

President Trump was exactly right to fire an acting Attorney General who refused to carry out her constitutional duty to enforce and defend the law. Yates’ lawless partisanship highlights why the Senate needs to act now--and Senate Democrats should end their extreme political obstruction and delay--and confirm Jeff Sessions immediately. America needs and deserves an Attorney General who will be faithful to the Constitution and uphold the law.

Reminds me of the old gangster movies where a sidekick would repeat what the lead gangster would say.

“Now that Ted has shown some courage maybe others in the Republican party will speak out in support of Trump.”

Seriously. Do these people have their spines surgically removed when they take the oath of office? They have someone at the top showing them how to win and they STILL don’t seem to have a freaking clue how to act.

I was a “neverTrumper” before I wasn’t. Through a good portion of the primary, I was with Cruz. I honestly didn’t think that Trump could pull it off. But as Ted faded, I slowly moved towards Trump. And voted for him, though I was more negative on Hillary than I was positive on him. I just didn’t see it.

Since then, I’ve been blown away at the positive moves he’s made. And I’m equally turned OFF by the constant actions of the left. He’s done the right things, he’s done them faster than anybody might expect, and I’m very impressed with him.

I’m a little bit embarrassed that I doubted him to be honest. But I’d be dishonest if I didn’t say that I did.

End of the day - I’m proud that Trump is our President. I really am.

What do you mean? Trump’s approval rating in RAS is high, and a few legit polls conducted today shows American’s support the EO.

This is nothing but Ted’s plan for rehab.

Ted is a big boy. He knew, or should have known what the stakes were last year.

As a party you hold a convention to pick up the big Mo, and hope it will carry you over the finish line.

Once Trump obtained the delegates, it was over for Ted. It was time for him to suck it up and get ready to endorse.

He could have helped to create big momentum going into the Convention by tossing his support behind Trump.

He failed this. Instead he had his people try to change the rules to gain support even at that late date.

Once that was done he could have tossed his support behind Trump. Instead he refused.

He led up to the Convention by refusing to help, spent the convention prelims by refusing to help. He then refused to endorse.

We held a convention, and the runner up candidate poured sour grapes on all of it. The big momentum we could have gained, was diminished by Ted Cruz.

This is the middle of July. On September 23rd, over two months later, he finally broke down and said he’d vote for Trump. He actually made a pretty good endorsement. I didn’t even know it until several days ago. I thought he had only said he’d vote for Trump. He went farther than that, and I never knew it. Over two months after the Convention, the number of people who still cared were minuscule.

So Ted endorsed and put up a statement on FaceBook to herald it. Two months after the convention, nobody but nobody following Ted, who actually went to his FaceBook page to read what was up with him. He was two month old news at that point, and headed nowhere.

Ted went to an event that day. That was the last event he participated in until November 5th. On that day he went to three Trump events. At the first, he didn’t even say the name Trump.

With the stakes what they were, with the nation on the line, with Hillary Clinton licking her chops to finish the destruction of this nation that Obama had nearly completed, Ted still couldn’t put his whole heart and soul into it.

Ted’s wounded ego was what was most important to him. Screw the nation, he and his wife had been slighted, and Ted was going to play into his supporters wet-dreams just a few more times.

This was the guy’s dedication to our nation last year.

Capped off with revealing the worst judgement ever, by blaming Trump for the violence outside his events, Ted destroyed himself. I’ll never trust him on the SCOTUS now.

He didn’t know it wasn’t Trump’s fault? This is a guy I want to judge complex issues?

So yes, perhaps I’m carrying a grudge a long time.

Trump won by a razor thin margin. A few states here and there, we don’t have a Trump right now.

That’s what Cruz was toying with.

Now he latches on to what Trump does to sound like he’s just like Trump. Nope. Ted is nothing like Trump.

I’ll never support him, or allow him to outrun his sell-out of the nation last year.

Patriots don’t do what Ted did last year.

They fight tooth and nail to save the nation.

Ted didn’t. I’m not forgetting.

That is better than him not backing him, but there has been too much water under the bridge by now.

Are you asking if it smells?

Yes

This (Cruz) is a NeverTrumper. Don’t forget. When he told folks at the convention to vote their Conscience, it was a message to those who supported him.

If you can’t vote for Trump because of what he did to me, I can understand that.

Ted couldn’t endorse at the convention. - After giving it a lot of thought. - He just couldn’t pull the trigger against Clinton. Wow.

Cruz was easy to call patriots disrupters, too. He defended Soros’ goons in Chicago. The end.

I take Cruz for what he is. He’s not against us at the moment.

Here are his antics replayed from last year.

Yes, but the establishment Republicans never supported Trump. Trump ran as a Republican, but lets be real, he was seen as an outsider who was going to take down the uniparty.
The fact R’s are not supporting Trump is old news.
And it emphasizes why he won. The people who didn’t get it still don’t get it, and that’s why they’ll keep losing.
