Dissent memo circulating in the State Department over Trump’s policy on refugees and immigrants

State Department diplomats are circulating a memo objecting to President Trump’s executive order last week to suspend the nation’s refugee program and deny U.S. entry to citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries in the Middle East.

The document is destined for what’s known as the State Department’s “dissent channel,” which was set up during the Vietnam War as a way for diplomats to signal their disagreement on foreign policy decisions to senior management. The communications are typically private.

It is not known whether the memo has been submitted yet to Acting Secretary of State Thomas Shannon, a holdover from the Obama administration who is in charge of the department until a replacement is named. The Senate is expected to confirm Rex Tillerson, a former ExxonMobil executive who is designated for the job.

If bureaucrats in the executive branch are not willing to carry out the directives of the president, then they should not be protected by the Civil Service act and should be fired.

Probably hard to fire them but they don't need to be kept at State Department. There must be some job in the Aleutian islands that needs manning by a civil servant whose conscience prevents him from implementing the Presiden't foreign policy, right?

They see themselves as an unelected resistance to the elected administration. They are holdouts still loyal to the president in exile Barack Obama. They communicate and collude with other
Libs to thwart the implemented policies. They do not believe in a peaceful transfer of power and should be terminated for engaging in partisan politicking (Twitter) on ‘company’ time.

If the State Department is laced with leftists that need to be purged, then those who complain may be helpful.

Republicans in the past have failed to purge their departments, other than a few cabinet posts. This has been a boon to the Democrats since the Clintons took office.

Failure of past Republicans to purge government offices supports Michael Savage's claim that we had a dysfunctional oligarchy form of government until Trump took office.
