In hopes of denying Mayor Bill de Blasio a second term, some New York City Republican leaders intend to rally around a single candidate to avoid a contentious primary and present a stronger challenge in the general election.
Starting this week, Republican Party leaders and members will begin the process of vetting candidates who have declared their intention to run for mayor or are exploring a mayoral bid. Party organizations will host public meetings where each candidate will have the opportunity to present their ideas to party voters and functionaries. When it fielded Joe Lhota in 2013 after a primary battle, the GOP lost in a landslide to de Blasio, but with the mayors poll numbers showing some vulnerability ahead of this falls vote, Republicans hope to identify one candidate to throw their weight behind.

Run for NYC mayor again, Rudy Giuliani!
What the Repubs in NY need are 2 things:
NAME RECOGNITION
SOLID CONSERVATIVE
If Massey shows any signs of actually being able to win the mayoral contest, the Dems will throw DiBlasio under the bus and run someone who is unbeatable in the five boroughs, even if it means having to say hello to Mayor Clinton.
Don’t imagine Rudy would be interested in revisiting his old job as Mayor of NYC. The nominee would have to be a RINO in order for the Libs in New York to vote for him. Also, since the Liberals are so against voter fraud, I wonder how much of that practice was responsible for De Blasio’s win?
I don’t think Rudy would win. NY has a pattern. Keep putting Rat idiots in until the city bottoms out, bring in an adult get things back on track repeat. They haven’t bottomed out yet.
Won’t they need to clean up the voter fraud first in order to defeat Wilhelm?
