There’s something wrong if the government keeps such close tabs on how much room you have.
So, they keep a database of how many people live in how big a house. That is kind of creepy. You have to wonder what else they keep track of. Not that the US would be much better, of course.
Just out of curiosity, do the Canadians require you to register with the local authorities when you move? This is something they required in Germany during the 80’s.

If that was my Mom, she would be selling her house yesterday & relocating to my house tomorrow. That’s simply outrageous! Best wishes on your situation. It would be wise to act immediately before a tragedy occurs and it sounds like that’s at her dootstep :(
