Quebec City Police are outside of a mosque where multiple gunshots were fired.
Multiple people are feared wounded, according to CBC's French-language service Radio-Canada. Their condition is not known at this time.
A number of ambulances are parked outside of the Islamic cultural centre of Quebec in the Sainte-Foy neighbourhood.
Police have set up a perimeter around the mosque.
That recently posted link (gates of Vienna) had some good information, I think.
I can tell you that the shooter who was captured after a chase had driven about 15 miles all the way through Quebec City (Ste-Foy is a west end suburb) as the Ile d’Orleans bridge is several miles northeast of the city. So that would indicate that his vehicle was identifiable from the scene.
If you wanted to see the location on google earth, it is at the corner of Chemin Ste-Foy and Route de l’Eglise at the north end of that street (it ends at the Chemin Ste-Foy) and the Islamic Cultural Centre is a secular looking building rather than an obvious mosque.
As to one of the shooters sounding home-grown, that is not a surprise; Muslims have been living in Canada in some cases for two generations and younger ones have probably developed almost a generic accent relative to the French or English speakers around them.
The Canadian media are being obtusely slow in reporting most of these facts. I am sure they are holding out for the miracle of this being either local white supremacists or anyone other than who is apparently implicated.

In 2014 a homegrown Muslim punk (Michael Zehaf-Bibeau) killed a soldier on duty in Ottawa at the national War Memorial. Libyan father and French-Canadian mother. Two days earlier another homegrown muzzie convert (Jean Couture-Rouleau) ran over two Canadian soldiers with his car, killing one. The media twisted both incidents to downplay the clear evidence of islamic terrrorism. But a mosque is attacked and they immediately tie this to alleged “islamophobia”. If the attackers were dedicated Catholics (unlikely in hyper-secular Quebec) the government would already have released this information.

Well there has been a sudden quiet about this incident after the initial hysteria and media breathlessly insinuating it was “white supremacists” or anti-muslim rhetoric. No media that’s YOU on the left you fill people with hate and they go riot and kill. BLM shooting five police in Dallas, anyone?
There’s something wrong if the government keeps such close tabs on how much room you have.
Wherever you got those two names and backgrounds, can you find out anything else and confirm their identities?
Ive read many news stories this am - Canada and US - the NY Times has a long story about apprehension etc but wont say their names. That’s your dead give away at this point.

Turns out the mosque in Quebec WAS attacked by some right-wing, blond-haired Canada-forever Christian men! CBC news is reporting that the two Quebec Mosque shooting suspects are:
1) Bashir al Taweed
2) Hassan Matti
Those are some Christian, Canadian names if I ever heard some!

So, they keep a database of how many people live in how big a house. That is kind of creepy. You have to wonder what else they keep track of. Not that the US would be much better, of course.
Just out of curiosity, do the Canadians require you to register with the local authorities when you move? This is something they required in Germany during the 80’s.

These stories, like movie scripts, almost follow a template in the way the reporting unfolds. At first, the media has no info, other than the hysterical first moments, so often short on truth. It is a race to see who can report first, so caution is thrown to the winds.
Then there is an almost eagerness to see that the perpetrator of a mass shooting is a white, Christian conservative lunatic. As events unfold and it is not the suspect they so wish for, you can almost hear the disappointment in their voices and see it on their faces.
Then, as is almost always the case, it turns out to be a Muslim or Muslims, and everyone in the media is bewildered as to WHY Muslims would attack such kind, non-discriminatory people like Westerners.
It is, they’ll declare, the fault of the political Right, for demeaning Islam and Muslims—never the religion whose holy book, the Koran, urges them to wage war on non-believers, who are declared by the Prophet as “Infidels”.
