Hate to rain on your attempts to be haughty, but I lost a daughter when she was four months old. This was in 1982 before there were baby monitors or sensors. There is lots of research into causes and NONE of the evidence is proved through poverty, drugs or alcohol. None. It even happens to the wealthy. So, can’t we just pray that even one child might be saved?
Sorry, I'm not buying your commentary. Number one, you did have an axe to grind so why say, "Hate to rain..."? Nonsense.
What did my commentary have to do with your loss? Did I say you shouldn't be able to purchase these monitors? NO!
I object to the insurance companies or the government having to supply these on our dime, or the other policy holder's dime that these monitors would drive up premiums for.
If someone has a child, it is their obligation to do everything possible to protect their child. It is not the insurance companies or some state agency.
\ Do you think car insurance companies or a government agency should be forced to provide car seats for young children? After all, studies show children are safer in them.
I didn't make a comment that only those problematic groups I mentioned were having this problem, so you thinking you had to mention otherwise was just silly.
Last but not least, how this became an insult to you regarding your loss, is beyond me. Why would I wish this on anyone, just because I think this evidences misplaced responsibility?
I am sorry for your loss. I hate to see anyone go through something like this.
A doctor and his wife in one of my former neighborhoods lost a baby to SIDS. It can happen to anyone.
