Rosie ODonnell, Amy Schumer, Miley Cyrus and George Clooney are part of a group of celebrities calling for a total Hollywood strike until Trump resigns.
A group of liberal Hollywood celebrities are threatening a massive, all-round Hollywood strike unless Donald Trump resigns. Describing Hollywood as the base of the entire modern American culture, the group also claims to be speaking on behalf of all of humanity.
Its about time people understood that were the ones with the power and that the president is there to serve us, not the other way around, a spokesperson for the group told The New York Times.
Were calling for a general strike that would include every single person involved in making motion pictures in Hollywood, starting with the actors and celebrities themselves and encompassing companies in charge of making props, movie memorabilia and even souvenir shops.
Spinzon reports: Rosie ODonnell, Debra Messing, Ed Asner and Michael Shannon are among the dozens of artists, entertainers, and activists who have attached their names to an effort calling for a month-long protest to stop President-elect Donald Trump.
No! In the Name of Humanity We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America! reads a full-page ad placed in the New York Times on Wednesday by the group Refuse Racism. Donald Trump, the President-elect, is assembling a regime of grave danger, the ad says.
Millions of people in the US and around the world are filled with deep anxiety, fear and disgust. Our anguish is right and just. Our anger must now become massive resistance before Donald Trump is inaugurated and has the full reins of power in his hands.
Other Hollywood celebrities who have also joined the campaign, however, are calling for an all-out strike that would span the entire movie industry in the hopes that such a move would urge the President-elect to resign from his position as the newly elected President of the United States.

No,don’t send them to Canada or even Africa, they can still cone back easily. Send them to a black hole or a neutral star instead, LOL
YESSSSSS!!!!!
That would be hilarious!
But that would leave them all that extra time they would have aoent “working” to do coke and make sex videos.
So not much different.
Between re-runs and my DVD collection, I’ve got enough to last through the next five or six presidential terms. Let’s see who cracks first ...
I just returned the library copy of the war of the worlds- 1950s version. That’s better than the more recent Tom Cruise version.
If they were Japanese, seppuku would be a way to show to their dishonor.
That is an awesome idea!!
Except it ain’t happening because PRESIDENT TRUMP will call their bluff. lol. Grab some popcorn!
“Send them to a black hole or a neutral star instead, LOL!”
Now! Now! is that Deplorable Code that might be racist, sexist, whitish or anti snowflakes.
Um...yeah. I think I’ll put this one in the WINNING column.
Yup. It would be the end of Hollywood and the rise of all the other aspiring film capitals - Bollywood, Vancouver, Dallas/Austin... Hollywood would never recover.
Which is why they won’t do it.
My god, everyday has been like Christmas.
Didn’t anyone else actually read this drivel? It’s calling for the “strike” before he’s inaugurated.
By the way, one line from the article really stood out:
Its about time people understood that were the ones with the power and that the president is there to serve us, not the other way around, a spokesperson for the group told The New York Times.
Ah, right. Serve the top 0.10% of wage earners? Do they realize how woefully "out of touch" that remark is?
Nobody else has mentioned the blacklist!
It's an important part of our history, with appearances by McCarthy, Disney, Reagan and a cast of thousands.
History always repeats, usually with a twist, and this twist is a doozy.
If you don't know the story, look it up. You'll love the plot twista and turns from then to now.
We are soooo screwed.
“Good! Take nbc etal with you and ABC/Disney/ESPN and NFL with you.
I support this boycott.
Sure. Those stars who can retire in extreme luxury at a moment’s notice take no thought of those relying on that star power & profit for their day to day livelihood. Sure, shut down Hollywood, put those hard working laborers out of a job, real thoughtful of the elite. Inconsiderate twits.
These useful idiots think their stink don’t stink.
I thought a lot of them (if not most) pledged to leave the country, and thus leave us alone?
So much win.
Old movies are a million times better than the ones they make today so who cares
