The newly elected sheriff of Travis County, Texas, Sally Hernandez, announced she will not comply with federal immigration policies, but Gov. Abbott is not standing for it!
Abbott stated in an official letter, As sheriff, your primary duty is to ensure the safety of the residents of Travis County. However, your recent policy directive betrays your oath and the residents of Travis County. I strongly urge you to reverse that policy before its effective date of February 1, 2017.
This is not a pronouncement of sound public policy; it is a dangerous game of political Russian roulette with the lives of Texans at stake, Abbott continued.
He warned Hernandez that if she did not undo her sanctuary decisions before the beginning of February in her county, a county that includes the city of Austin, then she will lose her funding.
This could mean that the county will lose Criminal Justice Division grant money, which would not affect the country until later in the year, but the $1.8 million that was granted last year will be depleted by October of this year.
This will greatly affect the juvenile justice system in Travis County, according to Judge Sarah Eckhardt. It hits the sheriffs office very little at all, she stated. It hits the county attorneys office, the district attorneys office, the civil court system, and the juvenile probation system. It hardly touches the sheriffs department.
However, financial support is not the only worry this sanctuary will bring to the American people residing in Travis County, as mentioned in Abbotts letter. Many of these illegal aliens are criminals and have been convicted of murder, rape, human trafficking, drug deals, and child sex trafficking to name a few.
While the sheriff thinks she is doing something good for the poor illegals of the world, she is only hurting the American people in the long run. She will lose funding for her county and will be putting the people she swore to protect in danger.
According to the new sheriffs policy, the department officials shall not conduct or initiate any immigration status investigation into individuals in custody or provide information on an inmates release date or address to ICE.
This means she is going to be letting criminal aliens go free with no reprimand. Hopefully, she will strongly consider the governors threats and undo her new policies because they will bring nothing but destruction to the Lone Star state.
Our sheriffs have a duty to the American people, not to the illegals who squat in this country and take advantage of what it has to offer. If you wish to immigrate to this country, go ahead, but do so legally. These sanctuary cities should not be implemented they are nothing but a slap in the face to every single hard-working American in this nation. Hopefully, Hernandezs stance will change.
Break a federal law, and see how far you get! She has no immunity from federal laws no matter who and where she is.
Find an excuse to declare martial law, and send in the national guard
Stand up Chuck Greg.
Have the Attorney General of Texas bring a Quo Warranto action against her and get her removed from office.
The People's Socialist Kakistocracy of Austin has another habit of authorizing numerous runs for various leftwing causes. The runs are scheduled on Sunday mornings with streets blocked off for the runners, making it nearly impossible for people to drive to churches located within the area of the blocked off streets.
Complaints to the leftist City Council members are only interpreted by them as another positive reason to block off streets for the Sunday morning runs.
Crazy Eyes
My goodness but she is lovely!
Because, apparently not one Governor, Mayor or Congressman have read the law...Neither have any of FOX news talking heads.
