Jayne Riew is a photographer and artist who also happens to be the wife of academic Jonathan Haidt. Haidt may be familiar to readers as author of The Righteous Mind and co-author of a cover article for the Atlantic titled The Coddling of the American Mind.
Today, Haidt announced on Twitter that his wife had put together a project titled Shes With Him. The project combines Riews photographs with statements from a small group of women who defied the expectations of many around them and voted for Donald Trump. Heres a bit of Riews description of how and why she put this project together:

My Millenial daughter’s friend, who is VERY Liberal, nonetheless opposed Hillary on the grounds that she enabled her husband to sexually assault other women.
Some of them do get it.
The media STILL is shocked that women did not vote for the woman candidate
It’s just basic common sense of a 2 way decision:
Vote for Hillary and other countries continue to take advantage of the USA, terror attacks on US soil continue, corruption in government continues, healthcare costs continue to spiral out of control, we go further into debt, drugs continue to flood the country from open borders or you vote for Trump and that all ends.
That’s it. Liberals damn well know that’s exactly what would have kept on happening under Hillary but they just don’t give a damn because they think like children. They do not think or care about the ramifications of their decisions and if they do not get what they want, they stamp their feet pout, scream and cry. They ARE adults with the emotional maturity of children.
right? :-)
Sez me, if Donald Trump comes into my house and harasses the lovely and brilliant Mrs WBill, I'll handle it. Until then, I'm not overly concerned.
I voted for the candidate with the good hair.
If you oppose rape, you should support Trump.
If you oppose murder, you should support Trump.
If you think your kids should be able to get to school safely, you should support Trump.
If you think school’s should teach useful skills instead of propaganda, you should support Trump.
If you want to preserve your right to arm and defend yourself, you should support Trump.
You should support the left if you want to import more rapists, murderers and terrorists from other countries, spend school funds on unions instead of improving education and if you want to release more criminals from jail.
I don’t understand the whole “anti-women” image some people have of the right.
All those liberals saying that about Trump do not give a damn about sexual harassment, if they did they would have said something about Bill Clinton and his enabler Hillary. They do not even care about the basic human rights of women. If they did they wouldn’t have invited Linda Sarsour to give a speech at their march. This a woman who openly supports Sharia law, who openly said on the Rachel Maddow show that she is upset that Sharia law is not accepted in the USA. A woman who also said the USA is executing Muslim children. This is not something that was made up, this is not fake news, this is a woman who openly supports the most oppressive ideology against women in the world and these women at this march invited her on stage.

Heh heh heh.
I can give them 7 more “Trump women.” Me, 3 daughters and the 3 granddaughters old enough to vote. Except we’re just “smart women,” not “Trump women” even tho we all vehemently supported him. All very different women. One oil company executive, one nurse-missionary in Africa, one Airman in the USAF, a homescooling mom, a think-tank exec, a recent high school grad trying to figure out whether to flip burgers or go to college (need prayer) and one old Harley riding granny. And hell yes we are all 7 dang good looking if I do say so myself. Bonus: 2 dtrs-in-law who voted Trump.
Do you think they would be shocked if the woman had been Palin?
Politics trumps everything - race, gender, religion etc.
Politics or in other words power is their religion.
Me neither. I'm a woman who has voted conservative since the 70's. People tended to assume I'm a freakin' lib most of my life, until I speak about issues. I don't get that either. I ask husband why that is occassionally (I find it demeaning and insulting.) He says its because I excelled in a technical profession, wear my hair long, garden organically and ride a motorcycle. I think that's nuts. I love talking politics so it only takes one conversation to find out the truth. How shallow of those folks?
After Hillary's defeat I think the media may need to realize they are suffering that same delusion of not asking "regular" women any questions about what we think.
You hit the nail on the head.
As a woman who experienced sexual assault way back in the dark ages I found it horrifying to hear reports of WJC exploits even before he took Presidential office.
As an Evangelical Christian I’ve had women in Muslim countries on my prayer list since the Reagan administration. (There is no greater freedom for women than being IN CHRIST)
As a mom, seeing family values perverted by the left, its effect on children, including MY children is unconscionable.
I see Trump as someone a lot like myself. I did experience divorce and raising my kids as a single mom. But despite Trump’s philandering way back in time it speaks VERY well of the man that the ex-wife is a supporter. It’s clear his children have had a good dad. He’s a family man. Who can say that of WJC? ( just ewwww)
It’s ours too - let’s not be holier than thou. Politics is the fight for power to advance one’s self interest.
Tell me you’re not glad our side won.
Those were all very interesting short pieces. Millenials should in particular read the Indian woman’s comments about life in India. Electing a woman president doesn’t mean things will get better for women, just as electing a black president didn’t make things better for the black community.
Trump and I on the other hand? Nope.
“Confirmation of the recent study the conservative women are hotter than Leftist hags”
I don’t think this particular study confirms that (though we’ve seen it confirmed aplenty!) - no. There are 7 women and only 2 allow their faces to be shown. Because, as the main page states;
“Many felt that they could not be open with people close to them.”
It takes a brave person to risk identification to the mob, I admire the ones who do.
There's a difference between pursing power for its own sake for the purpose of pleasing one's own tastes or even for the purpose of transgressing the eternal law of God, which is what the left doesand participating in an elective process in the hope that common people will be freed or empowered because the system they are voting for aligns with "Nature and Nature's God", to quote our Founding, which is what we trust was done this time.
I got news for you - they think they’re doing it for the people, too, and that we are the evil ones. It’s just that us and them disagree on what’s best.
I disagree with your point of view. The two sides are not symmetrical, as many studies of comparative conservatives vs liberals have shown. Their motivations are different; therefore the will to power is to crush opposition and impose humiliations (by the left), or to empower freedom and dignity in accord with the consent of the governed (by the right).
