Lou Dobbs just broke in with the report that Mike Pompeo now has 56 votes for confirmation, and has been confirmed by the Senate.
This is a low bar. Nothing to celebrate here. Obama had 7 nominees confirmed prior to inauguration day and all his other nominees were confirmed in rapid succession. So too was the case with Obama’s 2 radical (Kagan and Sotomayor) SCJustices where there was no filibuster with McCain and Graham voting to confirm. The Gay Marriage issue was decided 5/4 with the votes of Kagan and Sotomayor.
The Rats know how to play their game even when they are not in the majority. Even with the majority, the Republicans cave in and allow the Rats to prolong this nomination process.
We should not have gone the weekend without a CIA director just because Schumer wanted to grandstand. Shame on him
Double win. Pompeo confirmed and Schumer schlonged himself.
Didn’t see your post before I posted about Harf. I had dishes to do and I still hung around to see what she’d have to offer. Kicking myself when I really feel like kicking FOX - think I’ll kick that habit anyway! I can’t believe they’d be hard up enough to give her a job. As I said in my earlier post - a few minutes ago - what’s next? Giving Psaki a job too!
True.....an Obama apologist leftover hired by Fox
Ugh
Two that are missing are both from CT
Car problems? Miss the train?
How long do they have to wait?
Did anyone notice if ryan left the signing pen on the table. The clip I looked at cut off and the pen for that nom was still there like he didnt want it. The whole pen thing was ludicrous.
Agreed.
Humorous that Upchuck Schumer votes “aye’ after the leadership meeting with Trump around suppertime.
Vote is now 66-32.
Two Senators—Blumenthal and Murphy of CT are weather-delayed.
Vote being held open for them apparently.
They will probably vote “no” anyway.
Schumckie came across the aisle, not too long after Tom Cotton was pointing a finger at Schumickie.
The democrats had to have their petty tantrums first, but once they had their whining documented, they voted to confirm.

I had just bitten into a sandwich when they announced that Marie Harf was coming on. I almost choked, and will NEVER watch that program again.
God,how desperate can Fox be?
.
I’m not sure. I think there is always a time limit, 20-30 minutes. Perhaps someone else will correct me.
Harf, the sound my cat makes while hurling a hairball.
Score another win!
Just found a video of the signing on youtube. Ryan did not take the pen. He flung it to the folder as they were leaving.Trump noticed. Picked it up and gave it to someone. I have to go look and see which signing pen it was
Little by slow
When debate concludes, the motion in question is put to a vote. In many cases, the Senate votes by voice vote; the presiding officer puts the question, and Members respond either "Aye!" (in favor of the motion) or "No!" (against the motion). The presiding officer then announces the result of the voice vote. Any senator, however, may challenge the presiding officer's assessment and request a recorded vote. The request may be granted only if it is seconded by one-fifth of the senators present. In practice, however, senators second requests for recorded votes as a matter of courtesy.
When a recorded vote is held, the clerk calls the roll of the Senate in alphabetical order; each senator responds when his or her name is called. Senators who miss the roll call may still cast a vote as long as the recorded vote remains open.
The vote is closed at the discretion of the presiding officer, but must remain open for a minimum of 15 minutes. If the vote is tied, the Vice President, if present, is entitled to a casting vote. If the Vice President is not present, however, the motion is resolved in the negative.
Thanks for the mention.
Verified that the pen ryan said he would take was the singing for education cabinet member..then he tossed it aside at the end and left it. I dont think trump liked it
