This happened in Seattle. It is the Seattle police department.
“Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos divisive speaking tour, provoking shouting matches and fistfights among college-age fans and foes, has now degenerated to the level of gunfire.”
Neither the shooter nor the man shot were “college-age”. One was 32 and the other was 50.
“WTF! Can I shoot a Black Lives Matter supporter at a crowded rally, with a concealed handgun and get released without charges?”
Yes, if it’s self-defense. The shooter is probably claiming self-defense.
Believe it or not, Washington is an open-carry state.
Outside of Seattle, Washington is fairly conservative . . .
On campus, I’m not sure. Generally, open carry OK, concealed carry by permit but WA is a shall-issue state.
Thanks.
Open carry and stand-your-ground. Claim that he felt threatened and the shooter will walk.
I read in a Seattle Times article yesterday, that the man was shot because the shooter thought he was a “white supremacist”, however friends of the victim said he was an anti-fascist that had a swastika tattoo that had a circle with a red-line through it. Seems like the protester didn’t get a good look at the other protester’s tattoo.
I’m 50, and have been involved in politics since I was 20. I’ve tried to figure out exactly what “alt-right” is supposed to be, and I’m still confused. Sounds like it was initially meant to just be some vague insult, with no fixed definition. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing, though it’s obviously meant as an insult.
“Just report what happened without bias, please, if you know how.”
They can’t. No one person can. Bias, by definition, is a slanted viewpoint *which the person is unaware of.* That is why a responsible news paper (or other reporting media) has every story vetted by editors and fact checkers other than the person who wrote the item. Of course, if all the staff share the same biases, they won’t catch the mistakes.
