Can anyone doubt for a moment that if those little Brownshirts in DC yesterday had been able to inflict harm on the president they would have hesitated to do so? On a personal level I'm at a crossroads in my life. Virtually everyone of my fourteen nieces and nephews are adamantly against our president and five of my younger siblings are as well as well as are a number of my cousins. As far as my cousins I have made the decision to exclude them from my life, we were never that close anyway. I'm agonizing over excluding my siblings and nieces and nephews as well. My mother is deceased over ten years now. My father is an elderly widower and for his sake I'll maintain cordial relations for the sake of appearances but once he's gone I see no further need for contact with most of family.
I am saddened to hear about your family. There might still be hope if your nieces and nephews are young. They say if you’re not liberal when you’re young, you don’t have a heart and if you’re not conservative when you’re old, you don’t have a brain. Maybe some of them are smart enough to see the error of their ways. Also, I am very hopeful that Trump will do more for black America and poor America than any president in my memory. Not by giving handouts, but by giving opportunity, cleaning up corruption, and holding people to high standards, the same standards for everyone. When that happens, a few people on the left are going to start noticing and rethinking their attitudes about Trump/conservatives.
