U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe, an Obama appointee, ordered a new ammunition ban for certain federal lands on Thursdayhis last full day in office.
The ban, which took effect immediately, eliminates the use of lead-based ammunition on federal lands like national parks and wildlife refuges, as well as any other land administered by the Fish and Wildlife Service. The ban is expected to have a major impact on much of the hunting that takes place on federal lands across the United States as lead-based ammunition is widely legal and used throughout the country.
Ashe said the order was necessary to protect wildlife from exposure to lead.

... what the Libtard idiots in Dee Cee really think of hunting ...
And it got Trumped immediately after the parade.
And Barnes stock just sky rocketed. They pushed for the California ban in a round about way.
Did it?
I havent heard.
This is very big news for the ammo business, so much federal land being hunted over.
Dan can kiss my Ashe!
I actually prefer full copper rounds when I am hunting. Study the impact of Lead bs full copper to see why. No, I don’t like the last day nature of this rule and it should be immediately rescinded on principal.
The feds own 640 million acres, or did before bummer’s latest takeovers just before he exited.
Look at one of your bullets. Just imagine how many of them it would take to actually contaminate that much land.
So obviously the goal was not to save the land or the creatures that inhabit it. It was to further damage the firearms industry.
90% of my hunting is on nearby fed land.
I have hunted since I was about 6. I am 59 and have hunted 20 states, plus BC, Alaska, and two countries in Africa. I can say without a doubt that more waterfowl is crippled and lost to steel shot than were ever in danger from ingesting lead. On dry land, especially big game hunting, this is completely asinine.
EO was signed suspending all new regulations.
Anything done by whatsisname (I forget... gee, I might not ever speak that name again) is nothing but a middle finger to someone in middle America.
Lead bullets are not a concern as far as contamination goes. They have little surface area compared to birdshot most are jacketed to boot. Most importantly, they aren’t ingested by wildlife.
As an aside, John Barsness is an avid hunter who’s eaten tons of game shot with lead bullets. His blood recently tested well within safe levels for lead...there is no risk in eating game killed with lead bullets.

Anyone who has a clue about diffusion processes could have told you that last. But clearly, this isn’t about science, this is about another way to hamstring gun ownership.
Thanks for the ping.
I’m so glad that halfbreed piece of shit is out of office. Screw me and my ammo?
No, screw you Hussein. There’s a new sheriff in town. Feel the suck.
Has this ban been reversed yet ?
this isnt about science, this is about another way to hamstring gun ownership.

All these latest ‘power pushes’ by BO are made to undermine and ‘shame’ President Trump.
As President Trump countersigns all the BS, ‘they’ will be able to say President Trump doesn’t care about the animals, people, environment etc and with the friendly MSM they can run the story for days.
Why it is a good idea for President Trump to announce Monday AM that he has rescinded etc and name all 150 or so at the same time.
It takes the ‘shock’ power away from MSM as they can only do so much at one time.
Not sure, but it will be.
Yep. Now consider the amount of lead that flew during the civil war. Remember all the animals dying from that?
Me neither.
