WASHINGTON (AP) On the night in 2008 when Barack Obama was elected the country's first black president, many black Americans wept. Eight years later, they weep again for the end of an era some thought they would never live to see and for the uncertain future they face without him.
In Obama, many African-Americans felt they had a leader who celebrated their culture and confronted their concerns. In his wife, Michelle, they saw a national role model who epitomized style and grace with brown skin.

Errin Haines Whack of Associated Press, the authoress of this masterpiece.
Such a great post, worth repeating in full.
The Left has cemented such a firm iron-fisted grip over every institution in society that people have to look over their shoulder to check who is listening or might overhear.
Imagine the seething white hot hate black or hispanic or asian folks have to deal with from within their own circle should it be discovered that said minority is an apostate/heretic from the dogmas of white communists.
The commies have a special hate for non-whites daring to slip off their chains.
Dems/commies believe they have a right to enslave everyone, but especially non-white folk to which they hold "title".
Asspress bootlickers crying too.
LMFAO!!!
Things have reached the point that Democrats consider what you said a racist statement for which you must be destroyed.
That's what they "built".
The author's name...perfect for the job. Ahem.
More fake news.
I give credit where it is due; black voters could have put Hillary in the White House with better turnouts in PA, MI, and WI, and they chose not to (especially the men - you know, the “super-predators” that apparently wouldn’t be brought to heel).
Donald Trump’s slightly better showing with blacks and Hispanics is driving much of the enemedia attacks now; they are trying to whip those groups back on the plantation before the mid-terms.
So, the blacks are butt hurt that the evil white witch wasn’t elected to replace the annointed one. That doesn’t make sense
This story just feeds my tagline...
WTFO?!
You're also right that the Left is apoplectic that Trump did even marginally better with minority voters in the last election.
Obama-ites are also worried about an emerging consensus amongst black academics that Obama's eight years were worthless, in practical terms, to the lives of most black Americans.
Today on NPR I heard a prominent black professor, Deborah Dickerson, say something shockingly disrespectful of Obama -- it was so bad, I don't think I should repeat it here (lest the Left use it to accuse FR of being racist!).
I’ve posted before that few (if any) of the Obama pictures proudly hung by black co-workers in 2008 were still up a year later. They weren’t sure how, but they knew their brief taste of middle class life was over (buying new cars, cruises for vacations, occasional fine dining). Suddenly they were spending a lot of time checking their personal bank balances from work, trying to pay their bills and their children’s student loans, and they weren’t happy about it...
