DEAR MR. PRESIDENT ELECT:
In these final days before your inauguration, we thought it might be helpful to clarify how we see the relationship between your administration and the American press corps.
It will come as no surprise to you that we see the relationship as strained. Reports over the last few days that your press secretary is considering pulling news media offices out of the White House are the latest in a pattern of behavior that has persisted throughout the campaign: Youve banned news organizations from covering you. Youve taken to Twitter to taunt and threaten individual reporters and encouraged your supporters to do the same. Youve advocated for looser libel laws and threatened numerous lawsuits of your own, none of which has materialized. Youve avoided the press when you could and flouted the norms of pool reporting and regular press conferences. Youve ridiculed a reporter who wrote something you didnt like because he has a disability.
All of this, of course, is your choice and, in a way, your right. While the Constitution protects the freedom of the press, it doesnt dictate how the president must honor that; regular press conferences arent enshrined in the document.
But while you have every right to decide your ground rules for engaging with the press, we have some, too. It is, after all, our airtime and column inches that you are seeking to influence. We, not you, decide how best to serve our readers, listeners, and viewers. So think of what follows as a backgrounder on what to expect from us over the next four years.

When I was a kid we used to use the term “TS” to respond to ridiculous comments like this. I wonder what that stood for? ;)
EVEN MORE WINNING!!!
To wit...
Dear Mr. President:
We understand our relationship is strained, and we want to make things happy again. So let’s discuss how to reconcile our differences.
You suck. We hate you. Here’s our narrative of how you suck, and we’re not going to accept any corrections: _____________
You’re going to do things our way to make us look good, which is best done by ensuring we make you look bad. So work with us here, giving us dirt on you to fling from the rooftops, and meekly accepting & cherishing whatever bovine excrement we hurtle at you.
We could go on, but you get the point.
You suck, so suck ours,

Trump the Torch!
Burn Them Down!
so, Kyle Pope speaks for all media ?
An open letter to Trump from the US press corps
Hey press corp just get a twitter account and you won’t need a press conference. That will of course preclude your filter but, so sad.
It’s only relatively recent in history that reporters have had college educations. It doesn’t seem to have done them much good having all these wonderful credentials.
Is ‘Freedom of the Press’ actually enumerated in the Constitution of is it just a variation of ‘free speech’?
This is an example of the blatant dishonesty of those people who nowadays call themselves "Journalists."
Trump mocked him because of what he wrote, not because he had a disability.
S’OK
“We have to regain that trust”
Why?
Apparently Trump is planning to do away with the Press Room entirely. No point in having 5th Column enemy agents in your own house daily.
“It is, after all, our airtime and column inches that you are seeking to influence.”
Starting laughing out loud at my desk. I’d kindly suggest that the author of this re-think his assumptions. I’d argue that President Trump isn’t seeking your adoration, acceptance, air time, or influence. He’s acting on what many have come to know - you’re biased hard to port and untrustworthy to the extent of being malicious. There’s no point engaging with you bastards. Rather, it is YOU that needs to drastically change because PRESIDENT TRUMP is bypassing you and making you irrelevant. It’s about damn time someone did.
Agree. It is important to demonstrate to them that they do not warrant such a degree of respect as would be sufficient to allow them into the White House.
They need to be brought down to earth and made to realize that they aren't important; That their jobs could be better done by non "professionals."
We need to go to war on the existing dominant media.
essentially, they’re saying that they have all the power, and Trump has none. They’ve obviously failed to learn anything from the last two years.
Dear Major News Media:
Get out of my house.
Your President whether you like it or not,
Mr. President
This condescending letter is a Soliloquy disguised as an open letter to Trump.
These entertainment news anchors and networks can’t get it into their heads that Trump feeds of their tears and lamentations.
Time to bring back Max Headroom.
It has in fact achieved nothing but indoctrination. They are cookie cutter socialists now.
Even if the media were totally balanced, I still wouldn’t want a gaggle of reporters in the house where my family is supposed to live. A nearby media center would be just fine.
