Why Elizabeth Warren is no longer the darling of the left
CNBC ^ | 01/17/2017 | Jordan Chariton

Regardless of Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi's titles—and to the comical dismay of corporate, establishment Democrats—Bernie Sanders has become the defacto leader of the Democratic Party.

Sunday in Warren, Michigan put an exclamation point on the sentence, as Sanders, alongside Schumer, brought out 8,000 people on a bitterly cold winter day to fight against Obamacare repeal.

Even the establishment media is waking up—granted a year too late.

"That's the future of the Democratic Party," Joe Scarborough, echoing Mika Brzezinski's sentiment, said on Morning Joe Monday. "He sounds just as relevant today as he did a year ago."

So, as the mainstream media opportunistically tries to Feel The Bern after ignoring Sanders when it mattered (both CNN and MSNBC recently held primetime town halls with him), you know who's become less relevant?

Senator Elizabeth Warren. . .

SNIP

But if Sanders decides against running in four years, Warren—in a political climate with a jarring scarcity of true progressive leaders—could have a chance to climb back up the progressive ranks and possibly serve as the movement's best chance to finally take the White House. . .

The author is a Young Turks reporter, so I take this accordingly. In any case, it illustrates how the left is trying to regroup. Sanders will be 79 in four years, so it seems unlikely he would be able to try another run; more likely he will try to groom a successor. It seemed like Sanders' supporters were reorganizing around Jill Stein, but her failed recount effort took some steam out of that. Some of the anti-Trump obstructionists in the Sessions hearings seem to be doing early auditions for the role of the next Obama. I am sure Obama will attempt to play a role in making that selection, and the Clintons are also likely to start grooming someone. Other thoughts on who the Democrats will try to rally around? And will they break farther left (as they seem to be) or to the center (as the DLC did after Mondale)?

That’s older than Reagan was when he left office!

Yup, Stein had them listening and blew it with the recount thing.

Hey! Give da bitch credit where credit is due!

Her recount effort exposed how the 'Rat machine works in urban cesspools like Michigan.

Julian Castro, Kamala Harris, US Rep. Seth Moulton of MA, Gov. Gina Raimondo of RI, and there will be a TBA wealthy (possibly Hollywood) type like Mark Cuban.

Sanders can’t groom himself, much less anyone younger who still thinks they know everything.

I hope they pick Chelsea. Everyone will vote for a “moped” unless something better comes along....

She is an angry, strident, nasty woman.

If you are an angry Progressive who hates this country, then perhaps she has some appeal. Otherwise ... meh.

I’ve gotten the impression the Clintons are trying to position her for that. I doubt it will generate much enthusiasm, but I’m sure they have considered it.

Sounds like you’ve been watching pretty closely! Hillary gave Castro a pretty glowing review during the VP considerations, he is surely on the short list for her faction of the party.

Warren is too shrill and another unlikable candidate. Her hypocrisy may be too much for the snowflake generation.

Chelsea is being groomed to run for Congress. She’ll probably get it, but she has zero charisma and can’t talk. She’s also saddled with the RICO Foundation.

Considering how inept Chelsea was as a “news contributor” for awhile there when she would freeze any time a camera was pointed at her, i would think she would not be a contender.

However, I did notice she was ver comfortable in front of the camera during her mother’s campaign.

She has expressed a desire to be in politics (after all, she knows it’s a gravy train from her parents). Expect it be be a continuation of Hillary’s roster of grievances.

The more people see of Warren, the less they’ll like her. . .Yes, Chelsea’s got a lot of baggage and not enough charisma to fuel a candidacy for anything beyond Congress. She might end up like one of the lower-profile Kennedys.

Chelsea’s high water mark has long come and gone. The Foundation is about to saddle her up for a very bitter long ride.

Castro gave the keynote speech at the 2012 Dem convention. He tuned down the Transportation sec job then, but accepted the Housing job later. He was nearly Hill’s VP pick.

Championed by Hillary and Obama, and liked by the gay lobby. He’s a player for sure.

I could also see her in an off-camera role working in one of the Clintons’ nonprofit schemes.
