Seems to me there should be extra punishment at any sentencing just for having the audacity to put this argument before the court. It would seem to indicate an almost sociopathic lack of remorse.

-—But to grasp the ridiculousness of the government’s stance,...-—

That’s a tall order.

Actually, it doesn’t surprise me that a government worker doesn’t know that lying is wrong. To them, its just another part of the job.

If Obama’s LAWYERs can lie to court without punishment, why can’t a lowly county social worker. /sarc

The attorney should be sanctioned for being so stupid as to bring such arguments before the court. Truly incredible. Now, that being said, there are infinitely stupid rats who do believe this. I know. I’ve seen ‘em!

It’s beyond disgusting that it ever happened, beyond disgusting that anyone is still defending it, and beyond disgusting that this has dragged on for so many years at such vast expense.

That Orange County gubmint needs a total house-cleaning, top to bottom. And the main perps should go to prison.

Show me in the State Constitution where it says you:

“Cannot put lying social workers into a wood chipper.”

You won’t find it.

county attorneys argued that it was not clearly established in civil court at the time of the events in question that in situations such as Hardwick’s, those involved had “the right to be free from deliberately fabricated evidence.”

Well there is now, thanks for that. The good news is that this ruling could make holding the social workers personally liable for the punitive damages originally awarded by the jury a reality. That would be sweet.

The code of ethics for attorneys states that when they sign on their name to a lawsuit, they are affirming that the issues are real and they believe the lawsuit has merit. (paraphrased, but you get the idea)

That lawyer (Lin) should be disbarred for even making that argument.

The social workers in question should go to prison.
