More proof that the terrorists are aligning with the drug cartels. This along with gasoline riots, the border needs a wall yesterday.

Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, a crime-infested city in the state of Tamaulipas This sounds like Saint John Lewis's congressional district.

That used to be the place to go back in the 60’s, when you were a young man in your late teens. Made that run a few times myself. Use to hunt and fish in Mexico until the mid 80’s, it started getting spooky.

Since our gov ran weapons to the cartels during Fast & Furious, I would think that alphabet agencies are “aware” of this.

.....the border needs a wall yesterday. No, the border needed the military on it 15 years ago with ROEs to attack any illegal invaders stepping foot on American soil.
If that were done, we would not be in the mess we are in today.

I never had a problem or even felt like I was in any danger. I still visit from time to time but am much more cautious now.

Well, some of them may be aware and trying to stop them, but others not so much-the Obama loyalists.

Why do we even have a need for a US Consulate in a terrorist controlled area?

I can’t think of a single legitimate reason, except for American citizens who might be so unwise as to visit there, and then need help. I can imagine several illegitimate reasons, but I’m not going to list them.

Why do we even have a need for a US Consulate in a terrorist controlled area?'We the people' would have no need. However, Clinton crime syndicate would need a safe place to pick up cash.

Both of you nailed.
What legitimate reason is there for a US Consulate in a terrorist controlled area in a hostile country?
Again follow the money probably explains the so called need.
Thanks to both of you for confirming what my old in need of more coffee brain came up with.
