In the midst of lavishing praise on his boss and the administration, White House chief of staff Denis McDonough said he is so proud that the Obama administration has been “historically free of scandal.”

It’s not delusional. It’s a standard misdirection play.
Keeping a straight face while delivering a whopper is precisely what they’re paid to do.
Baghdad Bob could do it for Saddam Hussein for years, and never a break in the narrative.
So Denis could do the same for our Hussein....
It is hard to imagine the alternate universe in which this logic and reasoning is explained.
When I first heard the “scandal free” statement I thought of this old Soviet joke:

They define scandal as consisting of sexual or financial scandal. When you elect a committed marxist, they don’t care about money—they are working toward revolution. Obama’s scandal is trashing the constitution and creating an even more autocratic country. The number of illegal actions is in the tens of thousands, but they consist of all the executive actions, treasons and violations of the oath that occurred in his administration.
Goebbels had Hitler tell lies. And vice-versa.

what they mean is that there were no reports of O’Bunghole jamming his ding dong in any interns female or otherwise. Thus even at the end if trump boffs no interns, sells no weapons to mexicans, none of his people get caught drinking and whoring in panama, even if in reality he or anybody associated with him commits not one questionable act, even if every scandal is provably fake, the media will declare this the most scandal ridden in history.
