When all of the chokepoints on our Freedom of Speech lie in the hands of private corporations, you just can’t accept the private property argument any longer.
Most speech now takes place online. We are just about there.
Private property is private property. So long as the government does not own and operate or regulate content then the owners may do what they will with it. Of course this should apply as much to bakeries, too. If there are entrepreneurs on the right with internet skills this will sort itself out soon. If conservative won’t support conservative sites and systems then they have not complaint.
It is funny there is only “free speech” when it helps, or is practiced by, liberals.
for all corporations.
Despite protestations: The US Constitution is not suspended when someone comes to work for a corporations, uses a product corporately produced or provided, or even when a client comes over to your place of business.
The corporation derives its rights ostensibly from the constitution, aka: WE THE PEOPLE... and if you want to exist as a corporation, you damned well better uphold all their rights as people, or you must lose your corporate right to exist, be licensed or operate as a business, public or private.
The suspension of rights guaranteed under the constitution, can not be suspended by business arrangements and agreements which are themselves derived from and protected by the constitution.
Business law has been messed up longer than any of us have been alive. Education has been messed up longer than any of us have been alive.
Its time to flush the toilet, and get rid of the leadership class mentality, who think that they can constantly devise rules, laws and confections that dis-allocate the rights assigned to the people, by the people and for the people who gave them the right to exist in the first place.
the tail has been wagging the dog far too long... its time to cut the tail off the end that stinks.
