Texas Democrat: I'm 'very likely' to run against Cruz
The Hill ^ | January 6, 2017 | Ben Kamisar

Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas) expects to challenge Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for his Senate seat in 2018, the Texas Tribune reported.

"It's very likely that I will run for Senate in 2018," the 44-year-old El Paso representative told the outlet.

O'Rourke added that he feels "encouraged" by the feedback he's received as he considers a bid.

Close election. They hated Reagan more, but none of this crap, as the Republicans stood unified behind him and thus he won in a landslide.

A decisive win would NOT have started the recounts and likely would have left the protesters, if any, looking like fools.

Perry will probably be Secretary of Energy. Dan Patrick said he is running for Lt. Governor and doesn’t want any other job. He specifically ruled out running for U.S. Senator.

“Please, Texas, do not elect George P. Bush to anything else.”

While I’m no fan of the guy, I would like to vote Republican for Senate next year. Being a NeverCruzer, I’ll have to vote for the Democrat against Cruz. If George P. Bush, instead, is the candidate, I’ll vote for him, of course.

Do you really think a democrat has a chance at the US Senator from Texas at this time?
Down the road a few more years and that may be true but I don’t see it currently.

It is good cause he (Beto that is, a Marxist Obama/Clinton democrat) is gonna badly lose because the people of Texas are smarter than you. And then he (Beto) will no longer pollute the House of Representatives with his presence.

Sadly though another piece of filth will take his place cause that district (El Paso) is full of bad hombres.

Right now, I refuse to donate anything to Cruz. If it comes down between a Democrat or him, I’ll send him a few bucks.

I do agree that the GOP is like the libs and is running out of visible candidates. But it might be wise now to start looking for a front runner as it appears the libs and the media are going to go after Trump like they did with Bush and I’m not sure Trump has bullet in his belt to get re-elected. Trump says things that can be used against him way too much whether they are right or not. Another Reagan may not be out there, But hopefully another Clinton isn’t either. And I can promise you they are looking.

How much longer can Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Corpus Christi, and the Lower Rio Grande Valley be denied their choices? I was even afraid Wendy Davis could win.

One less Democrat in Congress. What are the chances of the Republicans picking up his seat?

He is pretty popular in dim ruled El Paso, he is constantly telling people how much he is doing for them while not doing much if anything. I think he will be surprised to find out no one anywhere else has ever heard of him.
