Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas) expects to challenge Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for his Senate seat in 2018, the Texas Tribune reported.
"It's very likely that I will run for Senate in 2018," the 44-year-old El Paso representative told the outlet.
O'Rourke added that he feels "encouraged" by the feedback he's received as he considers a bid.

The GOP candidate will win.
Save your money, O’Rourke.
Beto O’Rourke. Beto? Is it me or is one of these not like the other?
Good.
He could have been a good Senator.
Cruz put his own ambition above the Constitution.
Cubanadians are not eligible to be President.
His Elmer Gantry act has worn thin.
Cruz did a good job destroying the demondogs in the Sessions hearing.
He may be a snake but he is our snake
He’s my Rat Rep in El Paso, idiot. Half Hispanic last name O’Rorke, like Richardson.
From the El Paso Times:
I’d like to know which Texas Republican will challenge Natural Born Canadian Lyn’ Ted. Surely there is someone credible—well anyone would be improvement over Lyn’ Ted. I’ll support them, with at least as much as the hundreds of dollars I mistakenly gave Lyn’ Ted when he first started his campaign before it became clear that he was just a serial liar and not even eligible in the first place.
One never knows when a snake will bite or whom.
Who’s to say Cruz will make the cut? Potential Republican candidates include author, minister, and former Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Texas David Barton; Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick; former Governor Rick Perry; and Congressmen Michael McCaul, Jeb Hensarling, and Louie Gohmert. He’s not a shoe in to win the bid with this type of competition. Something about counting chickens not yet hatched?

Unless there is video of Cruz naked in the Presidential Suite of a Moscow hotel cavorting with two female prostitutes, a male dwarf, Vladimir Putin and a trained bear -- he should start working on his concession speech right now.
The Democrat will have no chance to win that seat, but in ten years that seat will be seat will be in play.
Please, Texas, do not elect George P. Bush to anything else.
Maybe with Fiorina if news reports and rants by Lyn’ Ted’s wife are true.
After Cruz’s behavior with Trump she (or any other Democrat) will get my vote...if Cruz makes it to November. If no Cruz in November, I vote Republican.
I’m not in a forgiving mood, Trump nearly lost the election because of self-serving CLOWNS like Cruz and now the Dems/Media are putting the country through all this post-election crap - BECAUSE OF CRUZ and other NeverTrumpers - if they had gotten on board, Trump would have likely won the popular vote and these leftists wouldn’t have the platform they have.
Cruz has a LONG WAY to go to redeem himself with me, and no, it won’t be possible before 2018.
“Beto” ??
Maybe not even that. I guess if somebody's family has been in El Paso for generations, like O'Rourke's, they have to be a little bit Mexican, but his mother's maiden name, so far as I can find out, may have been "Williams".
He wasn't allowed to join the Latino Caucus. He also has a criminal record. Typical Democrat?
One of the posters in this thread asked who could run against Cruz, I provided what a site said. Sorry you don’t like one but he can run. I would rather see the GOP get behind one candidate like Rick Perry and put him in the senate where he might be able to push this institution to being more like the house and less like their idea of
Godlishness.

I’m sure Trump is over it now.
Ted is on our side.
