How did President-elect Trump handle press conference? Nailed it
CNN (Heh!) ^ | January 11, 2017 | Timothy Stanley, historian and columnist for Britain's Daily Telegraph

Posted on 01/11/2017 2:56:15 PM PST by LouieFisk

How did President-elect Donald Trump's first press conference go? He nailed it. It was strange, abusive, occasionally misleading. But he nailed it.

And while the media will complain that he tried to silence individual reporters -- which he did -- the reality is that the conference was about as raw and detailed as you're likely to get from a president-elect. He gave us a dozen headlines from just one encounter. This is the Trump paradox: Trump and the press hate each other yet they feed off each other.

Damning with faint praise. Little Timmy, as I call him. A little Brit who so wants to be accepted in America. He should go home and sniff around Theresa and Boris.

Want the press, the Russians, the Middle East, the Democrats to respect you? Hit 'em hard and don't let up..

The President's job isn't to make friends, it's to win for us.

He did well.

It’s going to be a delicate balance. Hopefully he will allow the media (and the IC community) enough rope to hang themselves.

Every Trump "vocalization" ... whether speech, rally, talk, interview or presser is interesting.

How many political people are actually interesting?

Someone that, when they begin talking, they capture and hold your interest ? (Newt is one of them)

And President Trump is (especially today) interesting

Yeah, that’s why I said they got 1 thing right - Trump killed it. Must have made them cry to admit even that much.

If calling out CNN as Fake News sets any precedent, it will be a great 4 years!

I notice many applauded his comments. Many people have not seen a president actually take random questions. They are used to a president being a pussy and having planned questions and answers since 1992 when Clinton won the lection. Having an actual adult answer questions instead of hiding like a child is probably a fascinating event for them.

Though I’m not sure who was applauding - the media, Trump people, other onlookers - maybe some of “all the above”.
