Russia just said the unverified report paid for by political opponents is "A COMPLETE AND TOTAL FABRICATION, UTTER NONSENSE." Very unfair! Russia has never tried to use leverage over me. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA - NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!

Morning Joe Attacks CNN, Buzzfeed Report On Trump And Russia: ‘There’s No Story Here’

Tom Brokaw and Mika Brezinksi slammed CNN and Buzzfeed for publishing an opposition memo alleging Russia has been helping President-elect Donald Trump for years, saying it’s “not even reportable” on “Morning Joe” Wednesday.
CNN first published a heavily hedged report Tuesday, in which they did not reveal the entire memo. Buzzfeed quickly followed up by posting the memo in full under the headline, “These Reports Allege Trump Has Deep Ties To Russia.” Buzzfeed notes at the top of its piece that, “The allegations are unverified, and the report contains errors.”
Brokaw was shocked the pair went ahead with the story, and explained that he and others had been chasing the story for awhile, but couldn’t verify it.
“It had a fair amount of detail, and we’ve been chasing it, and a lot of other news agency have been as well, never been able to close the book on it,” he explained
“The ones making the accusations have to prove they are true.
Not a complicated concept.
Why should PE Trump have to prove the intel is false, isn’t it the responsibility of the accuser to prove they are true?’
Boy, wouldn’t that be great if this were the case! The problem is that these claims get leaked by unsubstantiated sources by some media outlet, and then get reported by other media sources as ‘legitimate’. There are no real repercussions for this, never retracted in a way that completely erases the damage that has been done, and the idea remains out there as a legitimate issue.

So, while chastising CNN and Buzzfeed for running with this ridiculous story, Brokaw somehow manages to leave open the possibility that the claims in this report ‘could be true’..... If he was so appalled that these news agencies chose to publish the claims in the report, why didn’t he go all the way in his condemnation?

I have read your talking points on other threads. You have it down to ask questions that require a great deal of knowledge and consideration of economics, tax law, international trade and a host of other subjects.
You seem to be under the impression that FR is simply a GOP mouthpiece.

Well, I don’t know what issues you care about, but you sure don’t seem to care about fact that the REPORT WAS FAKE AND THE ARTICLE WAS FAKE—NOT A MATTER OF BEING SILENT.
Clearly this was a slanderous/libelous attack on Trump, a hit job...an attempted digital/electronic character assassination of our President in waiting, a man who is more like Reagan than any other candidate or sitting President we have had since...
