But in this case in Congress, the offending image doesn’t matter. In this case, the liberal criteria are said to be freedom of speech freedom of artistic expression, etc. Overriding the gross offensive nature of the images in question.
It amazes me sometimes how liberals judge people and situations based on an ever shifting set of criteria,, and that the criteria are not consistently applied.

I strongly disapprove of violating the free speech rights of that disgusting, pro-criminal “artist”, but I disapprove as strongly of the government giving a platform for harmful speech to someone who cannot attain that platform through merit.
The painting should come down and stay down. I have, from time to time, “misfiled” inappropriate books in my local public or school library. Go to either one when it is open, put a gross book where it will never be seen but where it has not been stolen, and limit the damage inflicted by the activist left. The same should happen to this anti-police, pro-violence painting, which should end up in a custodial closet or above a ceiling panel for a decade or two.
