BERLIN — Ships began unloading U.S. tanks, self-propelled howitzers and hundreds of other fighting vehicles Friday in the northern German port of Bremerhaven, to be moved into Eastern Europe to bolster NATO’s deterrence against possible Russian aggression.
Some 3,500 troops from the 4th Infantry Division in Fort Carson, Colorado, will join up with the equipment, which includes 87 tanks and 144 Bradley fighting vehicles, over the next two weeks.
The deployment marks the start of a new phase of Operation Atlantic Resolve, which foresees the continuous presence of an American armored brigade combat team in Europe on a nine-month rotational basis. The mission is meant to help allay concerns from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and other NATO allies over an increasingly unpredictable and bellicose Russia.

I’m sure our intelligence agencies have a surprise or two up their sleeves for Trump too.
I think we have gone backwards or full circle about 50+ years. I can remember the same scenario of guarding against a potential Russian Invasion down the Fulda Gap in Germany. The idea was to provide a covering force to delay and harass them while theoretically waiting for reinforcements. One Armored Brigade scattered across seven borders is nothing for than a symbolic gesture to send a message to the Russians. At any rate, as a Veteran of the 4th Infantry Division I somewhat envy those 3500 guys being able to spend 9 months in Europe.
How well do tanks do in a nuclear exchange, again?
In case you haven’t been reading lately, they do. It consist of: The Russians hacked the election. We can’t prove they did. We have no evidence that they did. We have no proof that they did.We don’t know how they did. We do not know when they did. And we did not even know that until the media and Democrats said that they did. In fact, the CIA even prepared a 25 [twenty-five] page report on it. And the fact that only a Democrat or Democrat voter is stupid enough to believe that they did, does not mean that it cannot be true.
