Today at 9:30 am, senior U.S. intelligence officials face questions at a Senate hearing that will be dominated by the intelligence community's assessment that Russia meddled in the presidential election to help Donald Trump win. Participating will be James R. Clapper, Jr., Director Of National Intelligence. Marcel J. Lettre II, Under Secretary Of Defense For Intelligence and Admiral Michael S. Rogers, USN, Commander, United States Cyber Command.
The Armed Services Committee's cyber threats hearing on Thursday comes a day before the president-elect is to be briefed by the CIA and FBI directors along with the director of national intelligence on the investigation into Russia's alleged hacking efforts. Trump has been deeply critical of their findings, even appearing to back controversial WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's contention that Russia did not provide him with hacked Democratic emails.
The committee's session is the first in a series aimed at investigating purported Russian cyber-attacks against U.S. interests and developing defenses sturdy enough to blunt future intrusions. "We will obviously be talking about the hacking, but the main thing is the whole issue of cybersecurity," the committee's Republican chairman, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, said ahead of the hearing. "Right now we have no policy, no strategy to counter cyberattacks."
More importantly, however, the hearing comes hours after Reuters reported overnight that U.S. intelligence agencies obtained what they considered to be conclusive evidence after the November election that Russia provided hacked material from the Democratic National Committee to WikiLeaks. However, in the latest change of the narrative, this time the allegation is that Russia provided the hacked data through a third party, three U.S. officials said on Wednesday.

good catch
“So just trust them, please.”
Headshake, stupid, stupid, stupid!
It’s not McCain’s job to have a policy / strategy to counter cyberattacks.
dp0622 ... ?
I can't seem to find you on the payroll.?
“Mandela Effect”...
Well, yes, you must have some perspective. When Podesta’s e-mail was hacked, now that was serious!
Yes. He needs to fire the current regime. Then he needs to set up some commissions to recruit back those agents, noncoms, and officers that have left due to the suppression.
Hence the sources he mentioned the other day.
I hope Trump tweets about that. This is being used as politically motivated. They have no proof.
As President Trump said many time during the campaign, “ we have very stupid leaders.”
And still, when China hacked the fingerprints, social security numbers, and other personal information of 21 million federal employees, Obama didn’t bat an eye and did nothing — no expelled diplomats, no public expression of disapproval, nothing. And the corrupt MSM? Other than initial reports... nothing.
Moreover, as you will notice, like the good trial lawyers they are, Democrats have very successfully removed ANY and ALL discussion of the actual contents of the emails with how they might have been hacked!
No denials of all the egregious information contained in the emails. No discussion of Hillary’s illegal homebrew server. No discussion about classified information harmful to the US discussed. Nope.
Look over here: THE RUSSIANS! THE RUSSIANS!
Lindsey Graham is trying to draw a distinction between hacking for espionage purposes (everybody does that, so it’s OK) and hacking with the intent to alter the political landscape (VERBOTTEN!!!).
The essential bottom line here is that the US Senate does not care about national security, just political security. Same with DNI and CIA.
Outrageous!!!!!

Not just intel but also the military.
That’s my thought on this. They are proving to be gung ho for war with Russia over Podesta’s emails so let’s see them in the future. At least Trump knows they want conflict here. This will be good for Trump to remind the American people.
Trump is getting there - he tweeted this morning about how the networks gave the debate questions to the b!tch but only want to talk about how it was hacked - very unfair. He could shut this down by reposting the emails and asking for confirmation or denial.
Well, the recounts and the electoral college ploy didn’t work. If Trump doesn’t budge on this Russian hacking scenario that the election was “tainted,” Obama still has another two weeks to start a nice little war with Russia on the Lithuanian border - maybe shoot down a Russian plane - and then “postpone” the handover to Trump on the grounds of “national security.”
Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel.........Samuel Johnson, April 7, 1775.............
That’s because, unlike the other ‘hacks’, this one cost them an election..................
