Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner inch closer to Washington
CNN Politics.com ^ | January 4, 2017 | Sara Murray & Theodore Schleifer

As Donald Trump prepares to disentangle himself from his sprawling business interests he'll have at least two key allies by his side in Washington: Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. The couple has secured a property... Trump's team is confident that, at a minimum, his daughter and son-in-law can act as informal advisers once he's in the WH. -snip-

Ivanka Trump has made clear that if she's advising her father in Washington, she will step back from her personal business... It's not clear how Jared Kushner will navigate his own real estate business....Trump is expected to shed some light on the new management structure for his private business -- and the roles of his children -- at a news conference on January 11, Trump tweeted Tuesday. I will be having a general news conference on JANUARY ELEVENTH in N.Y.C. Thank you.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 3, 2017 The President-elect has vowed via Twitter that his company won't execute any new deals while he's in office -- a step to guard against conflict of interest concerns. But sources said it's unlikely that Trump will go even further and fully divest from his company.

One option ... bringing in an outside trustee to help guard against conflicts of interest,... For Trump, the commitment to his enterprise goes beyond financial ties and includes a sentimental component as well. "President-elect Trump has always stated how much he loves what he does.

Anyone who spends more than four decades building a 10 billion dollar empire would clearly be sentimental about relinquishing control," said Michael Cohen, an executive vice president for the Trump Organization.

"However, President-elect Trump has also stated that there is nothing more important to him than fixing the mistakes made by the previous administration and Making America Great Again!"

I don't know why you've posted all of those items here on this thread. I've gone through all of them and I can't find a single item that relates to the core of my concerns about Jared Kushner's role in the Trump administration: HIS POLITICAL VIEWS.

As for his politics, once he married into the Trump family and DJT announced he was running, they all pledged the support and allegiance to DJT. Jared worked hard to get DJT elected, why would he turn on him now with some lib-agenda. It would be out of character for him to embarrass the Trump family and on his own accord, he’s virtually unrecognizable. Kushner has not sought attention or credit although others have credited him as an integral player.

It looks like his dad, Charles was heavily entrenched in supporting NY NJ democrats and likely many Jared-donations through HS & college were automatic to the dems. He was born into a democratic NYC family, that is to be expected and he would have likely stayed in that ‘norm’ until being enlightened otherwise by DJT. I saw where the Kushners gave some $$ cash to Guiliani, but that’s about it for Republicans.

From an old Politico article:

“The situation with Charles Kushner significantly decreased the public profile of the Kushner family in politics,”

Unlike other NY real estate scions, Jared isn’t prominently involved in industry groups like the Real Estate Board of NY, according to well-connected lobbyists. “He’s never been involved in politics, doesn’t necessarily like politics and isn’t particularly politically attuned,” one consultant said.

Now, Jared is taking a more visible role in politics for the first time. His father also appears to be in the Trump camp: In August, Charles Kushner hosted a fundraiser for Trump in his New Jersey home and also gave $100,000 to a Super PAC supporting him, according to Politico.

Donald Trump has just appointed Jared Kushner as his ‘Senior Advisor.’

Someone else reported that Jamie Gorelick is his attorney.

If that's true, then nothing else needs to be said. There aren't too many swamp creatures with a stench of corruption as bad as what she brings to Washington.

Clarification-

Part I - It’s confirmed, -> Kushner’s lawyer, Jamie Gorelick, a partner at WilmerHale, said that Kushner and his legal team are working out his compliance with ethics laws....

Part II - On another FR thread, Kushner = Jared Luscious, because he is handsome

So you still trust this guy?

I'm not a homosexual, so I'd never refer to him as "Jared Luscious." LOL.

Trust but verify. I’m a fan- recently, due to Jared’s tremendous contribution to the campaign. He likely would not have won had it not been for JK’s efforts. His extremely tight relationship to DJT demonstrates he is another bf & son to Trump. He has advised Trump well and his attendance during the selection -interview process has resulted in great cabinet choices.

He’s family, he’s trusted not to stab PeOTUS in the back. I trust Trump’s judgement of his character and instincts. He and Ivanka will be the extra set of eyes and ears that will prevent those who will inevitably attempt to destroy the Trump administration from within the WH.

Gorelnick is a classic Clintonian lawyer to be despised. I assume JK hired her specifically to wade through dem-roadblocks including charges of nepotism. Smart move.
