Assange reveals Podesta’s password was ‘password’
American Thinker ^ | January 4, 2017 | Thomas Lifson

Julian Assange summed up the shakiness of the claim that Russia “hacked the election” when he told Sean Hannity, “A 14-year-old kid could have hacked Podesta that way.”

Not only is it pithy, but it relates to things everyone experiences: our personal vulnerabilities to people other than Russian intelligence and the constant hectoring we all receive to change our passwords frequently and use special characters and numbers in long nonsense sequences.

The “intelligence community” seems to be staking its reputation on Podesta’s email becoming public being the work of super-hackers in Moscow.  C’mon – that nerdy, maladjusted kid down the block could have done it.

And these are the people who thought they should be running the country. Not surprised that most of us are smarter - we don’t need to be charlatans to get ahead in the world.

I was sitting in the downtown area of my little town waiting on my wife shopping and bored out of my mind and started messing with the wifi on my smartphone and a gaggle of networks popped up so I started clicking and entering passwords.

qwerty or qwerty1 worked, 12345678 worked, password worked. One of them was a local internet provider lol!

Who among us would have to ask our IT department if they should follow a “Google” link to re-set our password?? I’m sure Podesta is still waiting for his $80 million from a former Nigerian prince to arrive. These people are just too stupid to run a government

Yes. He got an official looking email requesting he reset his password. He forwarded the mail to a staffer who claims that there was a typo in his response saying the email was “legitimate” rather than “illegitimate”. Podesta then used the supplied link and updated his password. My guess is he updated it from “password” to “p@ssword”. I also suspect the staffer is lying. I would never say “Yep that email looks illegitimate.” I would say “That email looks like a phishing scam. DO NOT follow the links.” I think the staffer was fooled as well.

InfoWars broke this news of Podesta's password in OCTOBER 2016. Why is it startling NOW?

And I agree Podesta was more likely hacked by 'UFO truth seekers' than by Russia.

Podesta’s password was known early in 2015.

Though CAP is still having issues with my email and computer, yours is good to go.

jpodesta
p@ssw0rd”

All this shows is that eryn.sepp set up jpodesta’s account on CAP (whatever that is) with a default password of “p@ssw0rd”.

It does not say anything about what his email password was.

“InfoWars broke this news of Podesta’s password in OCTOBER 2016. Why is it startling NOW?”

It is relevant now because the media have reported that “intelligence community” has concluded that the supposed “hack” of Podesta’s emails was so difficult and so sophisticated that only the Russians could possibly have accomplished it.

Assange has repeated said that these were leaks not hacks and that the Russians had nothing to do with it.

It exposes the dishonesty of both the media and the dishonesty and the politicization of the Obama intelligence appointees.
