When I get on my bike I can sustain 70 mph for several hours..............
In the flat parts of America, with the wind at my back, it’s doable!

Centenarians are very rare.
Lucky fellow. Centenarian men are rarer than women.
One of our younger relatives is fast approaching 50 years of age. He bikes about 8-10,000 miles a year on mountain bikes and road bikes. During daylight savings time he rides a bike to work and does about an extra 10-15 miles on the way home.
His FP told him not to come in for a yearly health checkup, unless he feels different than normal besides the normal yearly cold or pollen attack in the spring. His FP said that some dead people has a faster pulse rate than he has.
He probably never got married.
Smart guy.
You know why married men die sooner than married women?
BECAUSE THEY WANT TO!
You are as fast a cheetah. But I think you be a cheater.
Hope the old cat stays clear of the goat humpers when he’s out for a spin.
Amazing. I remember President Bush going in for physicals, and it was said in the reports that he had a resting pulse rate in the high 40s. How is that possible?
I used to ride a lot but moved and got out of the habit. My personal best for 100 miles is 17.9 mph average. I was about 45 when I set that.
I had a neighbor who was pushing 70. I couldn’t hope to keep up with him. The old guy was a rocket.
A friend of mine told me his Grandfather died at the age of 100 while riding his bike.
He got hit by a bus.
Larry Niven imagined a world with 15-18 billion people, birthright systems to limit birth rates, and life expectancy over 200 fueled by executed prisoners providing donated organs.
One detail he has was the Olympics for people under 50, and a separate Gray Olympics for people over 50. Thus the old and young had their own categories.
That may actually come to pass.
I be a bike rider....................
See! See! Bicycle riding IS dangerous to your health!..............
*Pretty* bike. I know most males could look at that and tell what kind, but I'm not a guy. What kind?
I got one, too, this past summer.
It's a 1979 Hondamatic 'cause I don't know how to do manual stuff. It's REALLY nice. I've ridden it around the neighbourhood a few times, but I need to work on getting my endorsement this year. I've had it up to about 35 mph...but I felt like I was going as fast a ~~~ cheetah ~~~!
That means he earns first place - and last place - and everything in between.
I'd get tired just climbing onto the stage that many times.
This young relative has a sitting pulse in the mid 40’s, his 50+ year old bro has a sitting pulse rate in the low 50’s. He runs about 5-7 miles about 5 times per week.
My resting pulse rate is about 65 with BP about 105/65 and no cardiac drugs.
Nice stories. It makes me want to get out on the trail and start riding again. I was never a serious cyclist, but enjoyed cycling when I did. I think my bike doesn’t fit me well, though. Need to give that one to my daughter and get a new one. If prefer mountain type bikes.
