One of our younger relatives is fast approaching 50 years of age. He bikes about 8-10,000 miles a year on mountain bikes and road bikes. During daylight savings time he rides a bike to work and does about an extra 10-15 miles on the way home.
His FP told him not to come in for a yearly health checkup, unless he feels different than normal besides the normal yearly cold or pollen attack in the spring. His FP said that some dead people has a faster pulse rate than he has.
Amazing. I remember President Bush going in for physicals, and it was said in the reports that he had a resting pulse rate in the high 40s. How is that possible?
