CHICAGOPromising that every effort would be made to limit the impact on residents day-to-day lives, Chicago officials announced Wednesday that a fleet of plows was working around the clock to clear more than 18 inches of fresh bullet casings that had blanketed the metropolitan area overnight.

The murders are not a police problem. They can’t be stopped at the local level. The problem is a welfare system that encourages women to have fatherless children. Welfare encourages drug use, alcohol abuse and constant dependence. Fatherless children grow up to be feral animals. To end the killing you need to end welfare, encourage marriage and social responsibility. How, exactly, would any “plan” by the police change any of those realities?
Rudi’s Broken Window plan worked in NYC, it will work any where. Problem is when you have black dems in control or just dems of a city it goes to hell in an hand basket in a hurry from schools to crime including government crime.
Memphis saw record crime this year too. Murders topped over 225, the country portion had like 6. Most black on black gang violence. With a few crazies thrown in who were on street drugs. 1 mom killed 4 of her children while strung out.
The solution is to elect more Democrats. Rahm is doing a heck of a job.
Not the answer everybody wants.

According to the Hey Jackass! site, the number of homicides for 2016 is now 795, which may rise to 800 or more because determinations of homicide have not yet been reached in a number of deaths.
Ferguson effect as much as anything.
It is nice of them to find the rise “unacceptable”. Would 760 murders be “acceptable”? Why not state how many are acceptable. What hypocrites these proggs are.
At least they finally don’t plan new “tougher” gun control laws so maybe they are finally serious about protecting people.
It’s more like over 800, ABC Fake News propaganda shills.
In other words, just enforce current gun laws.
2. Targeted, data-driven enforcement, led by the launch of new intelligence centers on the south and west sides
In other words, profiling
3. Renewed community engagement and partnership programs, aimed at making community policing a department-wide philosophy.
This is just gobbledigook to make it sound like they are doing something and gives them an excuse to spend more money on their "partners"
I saw what I perceived as a slanted 60 Minutes piece on this last night. The reporter thought the police should not be pulling back from aggressive police work. The one rule of LEO is go home alive at the end of your shift. Liberals only want the police when it’s them but like to hamstring them the rest of the time.
