Obama’s Last Days: Aiding Trump Transition, but Erecting Policy Roadblocks
NY Times ^ | Dec. 31, 2016 | MICHAEL D. SHEAR

Posted on 12/31/2016 10:00:12 AM PST by Innovative

Only two days after the election, President Obama sat by President-elect Donald J. Trump’s side in the Oval Office and declared that the No. 1 priority in his last days in the White House would be ensuring a smooth transition of power.

What Mr. Obama did not say was that he also intended to set up as many policy and ideological roadblocks as possible before Mr. Trump takes his oath of office on Jan. 20.

With less than three weeks before the Obama White House is history, making way for a new administration with radically different priorities, the president is using every power at his disposal to cement his legacy and establish his priorities as the law of the land.

Obama is most certainly NOT helping a smooth transition. Just the opposite. Jan 20 can't come soon enough.

Those are regulatory roadblocks that can be overturned.

The REINS Act will make it impossible for a future Democratic President to rule by fiat like Obama did.

As for the rest, it can be repealed and replaced by Congress. Simple.

The man-child President is too clever by half.

The main positive is that Obama never saw Trump’s win coming, so he has been scrambling since the election. Imagine if he had been preparing for a GOP win for a year.

Obama will try to burn every thing down before he finally leaves in the next three weeks.

Talk about a sore loser.

Obama is frustrated because he couldn’t finish the destruction of the US during his term.

"...the president is using every power at his disposal to cement his legacy and establish his priorities as the law of the land."

Kinda hard to establish your priorities as the "law of the land" with just a pen and a phone, Barky.

"Lame Duck Putz"

Obama is now attempting to force reality to jump to that false tune. He’s playing a dangerous game. We don’t need a reckless lame duck president triggering a war. Obama is dangerous narcissist and globalist puppet who cannot be shown the exit door soon enough.

Obama never saw Trump’s win coming

Pretty amazing, when you think about it. It's a testament to the magical thinking of Democrats, that they honestly believed they could hold the White House for a third term, after such a divisive and disastrous eight years.

Even under the best of circumstances, it's damn near impossible for either party to successfully defy the natural eight year pendulum swing of that office.

I guess Hillary selling the uranium rights in the US wasn't enough of a bribe to get them to hack The RNC and Trump.

I guess Hillary selling the uranium rights in the US to RUSSIA wasn’t enough of a bribe to get them to hack The RNC and Trump.

Aiding??? That’s a laughable. This is the most painful transition in Presidential history. Obama is doing all he can to screw the pouch, but what would you expect from the most socialist president in history? He’s deluded himself into thinking that only he knows what America needs.

We haven't seen the best of circumstances for a long time. Through the collusion of Democrats and Republicans this country has been going downhill for many decades. The voters kept switching parties in the belief that having a new party in control couldn't be worse than keeping the previous one.

When we're on the upswing, as we will be after four years of Trump, the game will change. First, Trump will get another four years and then Pence another eight. By the time 2036 comes around, the Democrats (or a new party) will have morphed themselves to be barely distinguishable from the Trump-Pence Republicans, at which time the choice will be redrawn from "Which flavor of progressive do you want?" to "Which flavor of constitutionalist do you want?"

That is exactly right and I don’t know why he isn’t pinned on it other than he’s a destructive foreigner. Hell, He used to through a good rant on deficit spending which I never interpreted as not being high enough.
