Climate Central just ran this piece, which the Washington Post picked up on. They claimed the US was “overwhelmingly hot” in 2016, and temperatures have risen 1,5°F since the 19th century.
The first problem with their analysis is that the US had very little hot weather in 2016. The percentage of hot days was below average, and ranked 80th since 1895. Only 4.4% of days were over 95°F, compared with the long term average of 4.9%. Climate Central is conflating mild temperatures with hot ones.
They also claim US temperatures rose 1.5°F since the 19th century, which is what NOAA shows.
The problem with the NOAA graph is that it is fake data. NOAA creates the warming trend by altering the data. The NOAA raw data shows no warming over the past century
The adjustments being made are almost exactly 1.5°F, which is the claimed warming in the article.
The adjustments being correlate almost perfectly with atmospheric CO2. NOAA is adjusting the data to match global warming theory. This is known as PBEM (Policy Based Evidence Making.)

Back in the early 90’s after the slickster got in office. I worked for a major airline. We were instructed to move the weather stations from field between the airfreight facility and the flight kitchen and to relocate them near the jet bridges that had southern exposures. They had to be closer to the ground as well. Now going from a grassy lot to concrete next to where the biggest aircraft were, that had the hottest APU outlets and exhausts. within a few hours we noticed significantly higher temp changes and less humidity. But they paid us a lot of money to maintain them.

I have a PhD in physics (the irony is my thesis was on supercritical CO2, used as a solvent in extraction processes, that was before the “carbon pollution” hysteria), I can tell the climate boondoggle has nothing to do with science and Bernie knows nothing about science.

Always, always, always follow the money with Democrats, progressives, socialists, universities and most politicians.
One of the tricks is that in the early part of the 20th Century temps were often measured at airports - which in those days was way out in the country.
As time past, towns and cities encroached with all that paved surface reflecting heat, creating a virtual desert, and temperatures rose at the airports. Thus, the ‘gradual’ increase and the claims.

And in the real world, tomorrow the Middle East will be hit by a snowstorm the likes of which it has not seen in over 50 years.
Almost all “warming” is due to heat island effects. 85% of all observing sites in the US have all least 1 degree of contamination. They know it...but act as if it’s a nothing burger.
Fake attacks on leftists. Fake enemy burns down the congress building.

Get this- Satellite data showed no warming for 2 decades recently, so NASA I believe it was- concocted a story about one of the satellites ‘drifting off course’, and so, after they threw out the readings, and ‘adjusted them’ to ‘what they ‘should be’- Wallah- global warming all 20 years-
Yes folks, they threw out the actual readings, and invented new readings in order for the numbers to match the agenda-
Temperature measuring stations haven’t moved .
Urban areas have built up around them.
Why is this never discussed?
Their employees have been raking in big money from speaking fees and fake studies for over 10 years.
If so, then maybe you could do some legwork and help explain to laymen how to interpret these assertions that NOAA is doctoring its data in order to arrive at a predetermined conclusion.
We know they already reject science :)
