Police are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed inside a Target store on Whipple Road in Hayward on Christmas Eve.
The family said the victim and his girlfriend were shopping for one last present with his two kids.
The family said they were told by a witness that an altercation inside the store took place between Tyrone Griffin, 36, and two men who were allegedly playing vulgar music loudly on their cellphones in the toy section of the store while Griffin was shopping with his 4-year-old son. When Griffin confronted them about the music, a fight broke out and he was stabbed.
Griffin was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
"Basically Tyrone was a real good father. Every time you see him if he wasn't at work, he was with his children," Griffin's mother Yolanda Lindsey said.
Two Hayward residents were arrested in connection to the stabbing. The men are in their 20's and were booked into the Hayward jail for homicide.
Griffin leaves behind a 4 year old and 5-year-old child.
Griffin's mother Lindsey said she is looking for help to pay for his funeral.

There is no doubt blacks are more likely to get harsher prison sentences or even get sentenced at all than whites - but that is mainly due to income levels and being able to afford to a good attorney - poor and middle class whites have similar outcomes in court. Drug laws are similar results which is why I only mentioned violent crime in my original post.

obama has given the black hoods the leeway to do anything. Perhaps it’s time to go back to the days when they dare to kill someone and think it’s okay. I’m from the old school that does not give a disrespectful hood/kid/idiot the right to do anything but salute. Respect goes a long way and these younguns don’t have any... were not taught any... and there is not room for them and us older citizens to be in the same room. They haven’t lived long enough to know squat.. and I’ve learned to be intolerant of stupidity.
Yea, I’m on a kick about respecting the elders instead of wishing us all dead. Avoidance is not the answer... taking them to task and treating them as they are asking to be treated worked in the past and could work again.. but this pansy treatment has to stop. A guy asks them to lower the volume?.. they are offended?.. let’s see how offended they are after a harsh treatment is dished out.. They take the life of a father, in front of his son?.. there is nothing too hard for those hoods to have handed to them!
