Since the election, several people have privately asked me, "Well, whatever you think about Trump, don't you at least enjoy the attendant outrage of the left? At least that must make you happy, right?"
In my misanthropic youth, the answer would have been a resounding yes. But in all honesty, I put away such childishness years ago. I have a rich, full life that affords me ample opportunities for pure joy. I have no need to seek out joy sullied by anger. And again in all honesty, I wish everyone else felt as I do. Living through this disgraceful election, and then seeing partisan pundits double down on their disgraceful behavior afterwards, just discourages me. This is especially true when I'm sympathetic to the conclusions of practitioners of the disgraceful behavior. Reasonable, fair-minded disagreement gives me hope; unreasonable, unfair agreement just creeps me out.
What about the unreasonable and unfair? Don't I want to see them choke on their own rage? Not at all. To give me pleasure, they would have to display a far rarer reaction: heart-felt repentance. All of the following would be music to my ears:
1. "Forgive me, for I have allowed my emotions to cloud my judgment. From now on, I'll strive to be calm when I analyze politics."
3. "Forgive me, for I have trolled, stating arguments I know to be flawed in order to aggravate others. From now on, nobility comes first."
4. "Forgive me, for I have advocated collective punishment of groups I dislike, even though I know most members of these groups are innocent. From now on, I will make a special effort to treat members of groups I dislike justly."
5. "Forgive me, for I have advocated government coercion, even though it's far from clear that leaving people alone would lead to worse results. From now on, I embrace the presumption of liberty."
If any of these mea culpas come my way, I'll be delighted and grateful - and never say, "I told you so." But if repentance remains rare - as I firmly expect - I won't let it get me down. Any observant person who turns to politics for happiness is doomed to dismay. I have my Bubble, and it is enough.
I relish their rage in the same way I might relish the rage of a shark trying, helplessly, to try to get to me through a shark cage.
I relish that they are much more powerless to damage our culture and our lives. I relish that we no longer have to bake the cake. I relish freedom.
Their angry outburst are just reminders of that.
I did enjoy the tears on election night.
But now they are deranged and dangerous. The BLM thugs, OWS thugs, Black Bloc thugs, La Raza, etc. are the shock troops of Obama’s new political organization.
I plan to have sweet relish on my sour leftist rage. Very tasty in my opinion.
indeed, to paraphrase their Messiah, we won, they need to get over it
I also don’t engage in any indulgences with schadenfreude, though I am resigned to the political divide being beyond reconciliation.
If anything, I’m just watching and waiting (without eagerness or malice) for them to go too far and force the rest of us to act.
Their rage eats at their souls like acid - must suck to live like that....far be it from me to dissuade those who don’t have the reasoning power to be rationally debated.....
I'll admit to enjoying the angst displayed on Colbert's Election Night Special on Showtime. I saved it on DVR for future viewings, but realized one additional viewing was enough for me.
Leftists will rage regardless. Win or lose - they are demented and hostile in their actions and behaviors.
Liberalism is a mental disorder. And after living through 8 years of Obamunism, the leftards were conditioned to hate and despise normal American customs and values even more than usual.
So when the natural breakdowns occur and these idiots fall apart - I admit it is hard not to have a feeling of schadenfreude - but I don’t have much hope that these morons will ever change.
It’s not about getting enjoyment from their anger. It’s about the long term political benefits of watching them dig their hole even deeper with American voters.
Andrew Breitbart understood that the way to bring down the Democrats is to bring down the media.
Watching the media act as if the whole country should be interested in spending the next 4 years watching Liberals act like 3 year olds having a meltdown, is what I call “constructive entertainment”.
You lost. Get over it.
Many will “lose it” and become violent. I try to stay away from these people as much as possible and to maintain situational awareness at all times.
“And again in all honesty, I wish everyone else felt as I do.”
They don’t. Many don’t “feel” or think as you do.

Wake up.
Be prepared.
If anything, Im just watching and waiting (without eagerness or malice) for them to go too far and force the rest of us to act.
Watching Hillary's supporters melt down afterwards, however, has convinced me that I made the correct decision. Putting real power into the hands of what has been shown to be a group of emotionally unstable children, would be catastrophic on a global scale.
I'm equally sure that the lesson hasn't been lost on Low Information Voters, either. In 2020, Trump will have plenty of pictures of protestors to run against, regardless of his competition.
I have a very simple theory of liberals:
If they could get away with it, they would simply kill people they disagree with.
With that in mind, I very much enjoy when they wail and gnash teeth.
I use two different cars in my commute to Louisville, depending on the weather. I’m now much more careful to make sure the one I’m driving on a particular day has the gun in it.
...Their angry outburst are just reminders of that...
However, when angry liberals gather together in crowds on the street, or more accurately, packs, it’s “Hey, Hey,Ho, Ho, (object of hatred inserted here) has to go,” they tend to turn violent and destructive.
