Pardon the interruption: Clinton allegation may force Obama to act; Clinton to admit
The Hill ^ | December 27, 2016 | David Weisberg

Executive orders barring offshore drilling in most U.S. Arctic waters; an abstention at the U.N. permitting the Security Council to declare all Israeli settlement activity to be illegal and an obstacle to peace; the possibility of further action at the U.N. to formalize the administration’s comprehensive vision of a two-state solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict—Pres. Obama is sprinting, not jogging, to the finish-line.

In dashing through his last few weeks in office, will one of Pres. Obama’s final acts be to pardon Hillary Clinton for any violations of federal law she might have committed while she was secretary of state?

That is wrong. See the Heritage Foundation’s discussion of the Pardon Clause. The only thing a pardon cannot forgive is a future crime.

She’s white, so she doesn’t matter. He’ll continue to pardon a bunch of black drug dealers, though.

“Then explain Nixon’s pardon.”

Nixon was formally accused by congress of obstruction. The accusation of Nixon committing a crime led to the pardon.

As of this time, congress hasn’t formally accused Clinton of any wrongdoing so there isn’t anything to pardon her for. However, I wouldn’t put it past the media to invent a fake charge, get some unwitting RINO to support it and Obama pardons Clinton.

"In the case of illegal aliens, Obama can’t pardon them because a president only can pardon someone for past (federal) crimes, and illegal aliens continue to commit federal crimes every day that they stay in the country"

Well, if that legal reasoning is accurate then even if Hillary is pardoned it stands to reason that her keeping her ill-gotten gains from bribery would constitute an ongoing crime. Trump could have the FBI declare that all property and money in the Clinton foundation was illegal and the if she does not hand it over to the federal government she will be prosecuted.

If she escapes jail I would be happy with her being penniless.

Obama can pardon Hillary, and it would probably be to Trump’s benefit if Obama did so.

It would relieve Trump of any ability/obligation to prosecute Hillary. That prosecution would be viewed as highly partison regardless of the facts. The same people who supported Hillary, knowing that she got rich in office, would support her regardless of the evidence. It would be a very polarizing move to prosecute her, regardless of her guilt.

Failure to prosecute, would now be Obama’s fault, not Trump’s.

And it would avoid setting a precedent of prosecuting one’s campaign opponents and/or former first lady’s.

A pardon wouldn’t prevent investigations and revealing to the public what Hillary actually did. But it would remove the most controversial and emotional aspect of such investigations, the direct consequences for Hillary.

“IF you’re going to add The CryBaby Boehner then you’ll need to add Lyin’ RINO Ryan and McConJob along with Harry Reid and Nancy.”

All of The Gang of 535 including select former members Obama, Clinton, Boehner and others should be in federal prison.

Obama can’t do it. Obama is incapable of admitting that he makes mistakes and doesn’t know everything there is to know. Pardoning Hillary is an admission that Obama knew she broke the law. Obama said she didn’t break the law so the facts must be that she didn’t break the law. Obama will allow nations to be destroyed before he admits a mistake.

Holder, Lynch, that IRS gal Lois Lerner, and probably every single person who was ever part of his administration (except Comey), just for good measure.

Right, and without ever accepting guilt for anything ....

Do we know that? Is it required that he publicly state his acceptance? Is it not possible that he just spoke with Ford on the phone and said: "Thanks. I accept responsibility for decisions I now regret"?

And if so, WHEN does one have to accept it? Might he not have been able to wait until President Carter's DOJ sought or obtained an indictment (which obviously never happened), in which case Nixon could have then submitted the pardon as an irrefutable defense, at which point he would have had to acknowledge his guilt.

Just speculating here, but my understanding is that acceptance of a pardon is a de facto admission of guilt, not requiring any type of formal allocution.

Pardon her, Obaby! Then both of you can carry that baggage with you the rest of your lives, just as Nixon and Ford did.

Then let the US AG go after the Clinton Foundation and shame the whole family.

"Obama is sprinting, not jogging, to the finish-line."

More accurately: Obama is prancing, not jogging, to get in the bathhouse line.

The article seems to forget that Obama himself could be brought up on charges. Since he knew about the email serve, since he sent several emails there, he is just as guilty. So does the President offer and accept his own pardon in the process?

I guess that's one way to describe a lame duck doing as much damage as possible before being evicted.
