CHICAGO -- More than 60 people were shot over the holiday weekend, 11 of them fatally.
One of the most recent shootings left two teenage girls injured, one critically.
It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Monday outside of Leland Giants Park. The 14-year-old was with a 13-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy in a van. The 13-year-old's father had just left the van to speak with someone in a nearby house when two people came up and fired shots into the vehicle, police said.
While the 13-year-old sustained a graze wound and is in stable condition, the 14-year-old was shot in the back and is in critical condition at Comer Children's Hospital. The 2-year-old was unharmed, police said.

My Dad’s caretaker was a young African American who grew up not far from where he did (around 22nd and Pulaski)...Her parents are still there.
Her parents have installed motion detectors all around their home. She told me that she goes there and she visits and she gets the heck out of there. She’s afraid for her life.

One of the biggest reasons this will continue is that we won't be able to have an honest conversation over the reasons for the murder spike. Lefties won't face any of the hard truths and will go after guns again. The GOP won't be much better.
The U.S. needs an exit strategy from the Chicago quagmire.

I am going to let you in some secret. I live and work in Chicago for more 20years. We do not really care about this kind of things because it’s been contained in certain neighborhoods. Besides there are US navy medical staff working at cook county hospital in Chicago, honing their treatment skills on gunshot wounds. It has very positive outcome for them.
