I bet it’s Muslims.
I'm familiar with the Fox Valley mall on the Aurora/Naperville line (Illinois).
Years ago, the retailers in the mall started to post advertising signs on their windows inside the mall in Espanol, a come-on to the growing Hispanic population in semi-industrial Aurora. This was the handwriting on the wall.
It didn't take long for Espanol yutes to begin congregating at dusk all around the outside doors to the mall, lolling on deck chairs, playing fiesta music on portable radios, making gestures at cars going by and yelling things at the people entering the mall from the parking areas....just havin' a good ole time all evening long, especially Saturday nights.
Pretty soon, many, many shoppers, particularly the lady shoppers from affluent Naperville, stopped going to the mall at all after 5 or 6 PM.
I'm in Florida now, and when I read about this current rioting there yesterday, I marveled that the huge, beautiful emporium was still in business as it was going downhill when I moved.
I would say the perps in yesterday's melees were predominately a mix of hispanics, amish, with a smattering of disaffected anglos....and maybe a teeny number of Muslims, if any at all.
The disturbances there now will certainly speed up the mall's eventual doom.
I know about the history and things leading up to yesterday's mob action because my son and freeper daughter-in-law owned a classy restaurant in the first floor with outdoor dining under umbrella tables and the stars.
They were smart. When they read the burgeoning amount of advertising signs en Espanol on the windows and doors of so many retailers in the mall...they read this "handwriting on the wall" correctly and got out of there as soon as their lease was up.
