CNN’s presidential historian Douglas Brinkley this morning accused Donald Trump of “big-mouthing” President Obama by speaking out on policy issues during the transition. Co-host Poppy Harlow had teed Brinkely up to slam Trump, worrying that Trump had flouted the “one president at a time” tradition, and fretting that by doing so Trump was “confusing our allies and our adversaries.
Brinkley was only too happy to run with the ball, responding: “I think it’s very wrong-minded of Donald Trump to be doing this . . . what you don’t want to do is to be big-mouthing and big-footing a sitting president . . . . I find it troubling, but I’m not going to be able to stop him from doing it.”

Pretty much Trump has a blank check to call out every part of Obama’s presisdency. Obama built that pyre by arrogant dismissal of the American people who voted for Trump.

Don’t you remember Obama created the “Office of the President-Elect” which came complete with its own seal which festooned each podium from which he spoke?
Trump’s pronouncements is in no way confusing our allies or foreign opponents. They know with whom they must treat after Jan 20, 2017.
Not confusing anyone, America First! is as unambiguous as you can get.
The problem with Brinkley’s argument is that we have a current president who is: lazy; ignorant of history; indifferent about Christian martyrdom by Islamists; anti-Semitic to the core; arrogant about his imagined greatness, self-centered; etc.
In such a vacuum, a man such of Trump who is intelligent and full of energy will not sit by doing nothing.
Does CNN have amnesia? They were cheerleading every time 0bama was doing the exact same thing as president elect.

That’s what happens when an outgoing president backstabs our closest ally less than a month before being put out to pasture.
He did it constantly.
Nobody’s confused. Everyone knows Trump’s in charge. Even Obama knows it.
CNN also complains that PE Trump is doing press conferences...at which I’m sure they’d ask him about foreign policy.
This isn’t really about Trump speaking out, its about which microphone he’s using.
