Soon after his inauguration next month, President-elect Donald Trump will nominate someone to the Supreme Court, which has been hamstrung by a vacancy since the death of Justice Antonin Scalia in February. There will be public debates about the nominees credentials, past record, judicial philosophy and temperament. There will be Senate hearings and a vote.
No matter how it plays out, Americans must remember one thing above all: The person who gets confirmed will sit in a stolen seat.
It was stolen from Barack Obama, a twice-elected president who fulfilled his constitutional duty more than nine months ago by nominating Merrick Garland, a highly qualified and widely respected federal appellate judge.

Dear NY Times,
Robert Bork says hello.
Love,
Convenient Amnesia
Merry Christmas, Irrelevant Times. And may this one be your last.
I hope he sticks it to the left and nominates Ted Nugent.
Not a word about how the Democrat Senate help up lower court seat confirmations for capable judges nominated by George W. Bush . . .
I refuse to click on a NY Slimes link and let them count my eyecalls. Worse that TASS or Pravda back in the day.
“It was stolen from Barack Obama........”
First of all, that “seat” was not stolen from odumbo because it was not HIS. What was stolen was far more important than ANY SC seat, odumbo damn near stole America from “We The People”......until trump saved us. Trump will enjoy placing people of “our” choosing.
They are upset that they won’t be getting yet another Satan loving, child rapist, communist piece of $hit like Ginsberg, Kagen, Bryer and Sotomayor.
Most will. Some will have holds placed on them. All will be put through hearings designed to embarrass them and smear them. And I expect the Supreme Court nominee will be filibustered, at least for a while, in response for Merrick.
Lying liars gotta lie.
Losing losers gotta lose.
Whining Whiners gotta Whine.
And Winning Winners gotta Win.
Do these pathetic lying, losing whiners even know how good they make winning feel when they write stuff like this? I mean, a NYT editorial?
I remember when my kids would tattle: “He won’t stop looking at me.” I remember it every time I read something like this.
I been smiling all morning after reading this excerpt (won’t click NYT). Thanks NYT for the MERRY Christmas.
Bubbling over with Christmas spirit, aren’t they?
You mean the seat the libs tried to steal by killing Scalia? It was Obamas last chance to pack the court, but no one, at least not a liberal, was scheduled to retire.
So, suddenly, a conservative justice drops dead, just in time for Obama to install one more lefty justice...but along comes Trump and foiled to plot.
At least we’re “stealing” threat by not confirming, and not murder.
It was stolen from Barack Obama, a twice-elected president who fulfilled his constitutional duty
**************************************
How can a Constitutionally ineligible usurper fulfill any Constitutional duty?
He may have been elected twice, but he will never be a natural born citizen as long as his father was a foreign national as he claims.
If his father was a US citizen and he was born in Hawaii, he would be eligible, but he told us he was born a British subject because his father was a Kenyan.
He can’t be a British subject and a natural born citizen.
“Stollen” Supreme Court seat. Another Fake News nugget from the very same NYTimes that pushed fake news about the the Electoral College being established to appease the slave states.
The MSM *is* fake news.
Antonin should still be with us and there should be no seat to steal.
Well, Merry Christmas to all of you smug deporables at the NYT. By the way, I trust that you collectively know that the once great paper has become a rag and soon will be irrelevant.
The more you whine and complain the faster you will disappear.
Stolen? More like saved by the Voters.
Or as a once famous man once said, "Elections have consequences."
... and to make it even sweeter, our modern day Maronilla and Portia in one, The Notorious RBG, has named President Trump as the heir to her political estate.
