Got milk? Twenty-five members of Congress say if it's from soybeans, almond or rice, it should not be labeled as milk.
Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.) and Rep. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho), leading the bipartisan charge against fake milk, signed a letter along with other congressional members, asking the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to investigate and take action against manufacturers of milk that doesn't come from cows.

or peanut butter.
We are too stupid to know it is a different kind of milk.
Beverage covers it.
>A first world problem even if you can call it that.
Does not one ‘milk’ (pull/SQUEEZE) the result from XYZ? What’s next? Almond/apple butter can’t be called ‘butter’?
I call it a problem of GOVT; as if lawyers needed any more help F* the English language by splitting hairs.
>
Or a stupid people problem. The dairy industry argues that they’ve found consumers who truly believe that soy, almond, coconut milk, etc. has the same nutritional content as cow’s milk.

You can *NEVER* fix stupid (at our current medical prowess. There’s always hope /s).
Does not the product come w/ a LABEL? Easy to compare the two side-by-side.
Only when they are spent on things likely to produce a positive return. Which means seldom.
What else do they have to do? Congressmen either invent problems to solve or have someone in the private sector bring them problems to solve that are actually schemes to have government supply themselves with advantages over their competition.
Growing government is the primary way that congressmen get reelected. Ask any congressman how he is going to shrink government and chances are you are going to get a non-answer filled with evasive rhetoric.
Republicans are no better than the Democrats in this regard. Remember when GW Bush had majorities in both houses the Republicans expanded government in record breaking rates.
Certainly Republicans talk a better small government plan than the Democrats and have a better governing philosophy but don't expect them to actually do anything to reverse the expansion of government. If you do you will be sorely disappointed.
On the bright side, 25 members of Congress have admitted that they are azzholes!
Next on the agenda: is White Chocolate racist?
I know why Lynch from Vermont is calling for it, but Idaho? Is Idaho a dairy state? Should Maine say that Idaho potatoes are not the real potatoes? Who cares if it is called milk or juice or xyz, if you need to discuss a problem that is not a problem to 99.9% of Americans, then you did your job of lowering taxes, got the economy moving and report all of the illegals. If you did that, Retire!!
There is milk and then there is milk:

And if this picture post doesn’t work - back to trying to figure it out.
Did he get elected to Congress as a liberal? :-) Merry Christmas!
Make the industry call their products exactly what they are. In this case, “tit excretions” should do it. It removes any ambiguity whatsoever.
Very true...
Non dairy creamer would have to stop using the word cream. Non dairy white oil.
Also your skin creams would be called petroleum skin ointments.
I did think baby almonds sucked the milk from their mother’s almond breasts. I’m glad this explained it to me.
Or the milk of human kindness?
Only the very macho drink porcupine milk.
Nothing like a good concentrated peanut butter paste and jelly sandwich.
I heard Harvey WAS milked. A lot.
