A YouTube prankster’s viral video accusing Delta Airlines of anti-Muslim discrimination made national headlines early Wednesday. But the man behind the video has a proven record of faking stories for attention and the media didn’t think twice before reporting his unsubstantiated story.
Adam Saleh, the young man in question, claimed Delta Airlines ejected him and his friend from the flight because other passengers complained that he made them “uncomfortable” after they heard him speaking in Arabic to his mother on the phone. Saleh then began recording as Delta crew tried to escort him from the plane. In the video, Saleh loudly calls out passengers and the flight crew for being racists.
Saleh begged his fans to “please spread” the story in his video tweet.

And the media happily obliged by doing just that. By early afternoon, the story was picked up by the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, CNN, CBS News, USA Today, and The Verge, among others. Social media reaction was also swift, with Twitter users calling for a boycott on Delta Airlines.
But as you can see in the video, Saleh started recording after the incident allegedly occurred. As this all happened this morning, surely more details and accounts of what happened will be forthcoming; but Saleh’s account was all it took for the media to go running with claims of anti-Muslim bigotry.

At the time, Saleh put up a disclaimer saying it was staged but apparently took it down at some point later because the video now has no disclaimer or indicator anywhere saying it is an act.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~More proof that the MSM are not only biased,but stupid as well...

Thanks for posting this. I heard the fake story earlier today, and wondered what really happened. Now we know. The MSM should have zero credibility by now, but they don't.

Actually, I believe it goes deeper than that. The MSM and liberals in general worship at the alter of political correctness and refuse to accept the evidence in front of them that widespread bigotry from whites towards Moose Limbs does not exist. So, like all good acolytes of a warped ideology, they create evidence where none exists.
To wit, today the police determined that the vandalism and arson at a black church in Mississippi was in fact perpetrated by one of their own members.
It’s a clock.
Did anyone at these respected “news” sites even bother calling Delta for comment/confirmation/denial? That is the very least that should have been done before running with this video.

The media isn’t stupid at all, and they didn’t “fall for” this story - they CREATED it. When you look at how quickly the recent story of Santa embracing a dying child was debunked by said media, you realize that they DO research stories. They just decide that some stories are worth pushing regardless of truth; recent example include countless other “hate crimes”, Hillary’s popularity, Obama’s economic recovery, blah blah blah.
After the election of Trump, the talking heads publicly asked “How did we get this so wrong?” - when in fact, they could see (as anyone could) that Hillary herself knew she was in trouble, campaigning in the Deep Ghettos for votes she should have already sewn up (rather than the surrounding suburbs, which often went for Trump). This reviewing of polling is just theater to conceal the fact that they tried, and failed, to drag her across the finish line. Their success in doing so for the failure Obama in 2012 convinced them they could do it again - and they almost did.
I would say that the ‘news fell for it’ is a naive statement. I would be the news doesn’t care if it is a lie or not. Most people won’t find out it is a lie and the news sure as hell wont make much effort to redact the story. Even those that find out its a lie will still have it in the back of their mind that things like this occur often.
Secondly, despite us Americans having incredible access to the internet.... I still see tons of unbelievable old fables and lies still being repeated as truth. Humans, are in fact, incredible idiots.
