President-elect Trump's pledge to "drain the swamp" in Washington struck a chord with millions of Americans
...
Clean Power Plan: After failing to pass cap-and-trade legislation through Congress, Obama had his political appointees at the EPA slap coal-fired power plants with greenhouse-gas-emission limits they knew the industry couldn't meet ... In doing so, EPA usurped the states' role in regulating electricity markets within their boundaries, and even commandeered the states to enforce its new policy.
...
Paris Climate Change Agreement .. entails a substantial transfer of wealth from American taxpayers into the waiting hands of Third World potentates
...
Waters of the United States: The Obama administration is firmly committed to putting unelected and unaccountable Washington bureaucrats working hand in glove with green activists in control land- and water-use decisions throughout the country.
Under the guise of "clarifying" EPA's regulatory authority over certain bodies of water under the Clean Water Act, EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers devised regulations that will bring millions of acres of private land under federal jurisdiction. Obama's "Waters of the United States" rule will impose federal zoning on farms, ranches, orchards and other private property
...
Environmental Protection Agency: Accustomed to issuing rules and regulations with the force of law behind them, EPA has become a de facto lawmaking body (minus the accountability such bodies usually have). With its disregard for standard administrative procedures, its misuse of science to forward its regulatory agenda, and its funneling of taxpayers' money to political cronies on the outside, EPA has become a state within a state. The agency is too institutionally corrupt to be reformed.
Congress didn't create EPA President Nixon brought it into being by a 1970 executive order. Trump can dismantle it with his own executive order.

Yeah, but wasn’t Congressional approval required by the surrender money W to elevate it to cabinet level? (dumbest decision of all time)
If so, then how can you EO it out of existence?
people have no idea.
The regulations are flowing out like crazy right now in the federal register.
They touch every industry. I’m reading one right now that has to do with Brick kilns. Obama EPA has basically killed the industry. We will be buying bricks from Mexico if we don’t stop the tsunami of job killing regs.
I’d like to see him do away with the IRS.
Trump should write an Executive Order cancelling all regulations written after November 8th.
sorry for the hijack...
buttttttt everyone knows that China is killing our manufacturing base
They are nothing compared to our own government
Eliminating the EPA would allow him to RIF a lot of “True believers”.
*** “Id like to see him do away with the IRS” ***
Bump and Ditto!
First on my list! (and that smirking POS Koskinen and the lying Learner in Orange jumpsuits dragging chains all the way to the basement of a High Security establishment of forgotten to rot forever)
We can do just fine without the IRS.
Worse than the German Gestapo.
There are now four branches of gov’t, the 4th being the Regulatory branch, of which the EPA is the most powerful.
Eliminating the EPA would allow him to RIF a lot of True believers.
Reduction in Force
Reduction in force
Defund the agency to oblivion.
Yes, he could. But the Executive Branch would still have the responsibility to enforce the laws that caused the creation of the EPA in the first place:
Air
1955: Air Pollution Control Act PL 84-159
1963: Clean Air Act PL 88-206
1965: Motor Vehicle Air Pollution Control Act PL 89-272
1966: Clean Air Act Amendments PL 89-675
1967: Air Quality Act PL 90-148
Water
1948: Water Pollution Control Act PL 80-845
1965: Water Quality Act PL 89-234
1966: Clean Waters Restoration Act PL 89-753
1970: Water Quality Improvement Act PL 91-224
Land
1964: Wilderness Act PL 88-577
1968: Wild and Scenic Rivers Act PL 90-542
1970: Wilderness Act PL 91-504
Endangered species
1946: Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act PL 79-732
1966: Endangered Species Preservation Act PL 89-669
1969: Endangered Species Conservation Act PL 91-135
Hazardous waste
1965: Solid Waste Disposal Act PL 89-272
1970: Resource Recovery Act PL 91-512
Other
1947: Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act PL 80-104
1969: National Environmental Policy Act PL 91-190
Nixon created the EPA because competing bureaucracies at Agriculture, Interior, Justice, Commerce, HEW and Labor were falling over each other trying to enforce this incoherent mishmash of unconstitutional laws. Eliminate the EPA and you will just return to the status quo before 1972, and all the watermelons from EPA will be hired by those same cabinet departments listed above and start competing with each other to see who is the most radical.
Under Obama’s “Waters of the United States” rules. the ditch which drains runoff from my driveway is considered “water of the U.S.”
Same with the Department of Energy created by the peanut Farmer.
They BOTH can be Eliminated with the Stroke of a PEN!
Trump should write an Executive Order cancelling all regulations written after November 8th.
of 2008!!!!
But the Executive Branch would still have the responsibility to enforce the laws that caused the creation of the EPA in the first place:
Only those LAWS he Agrees With, See Barry and Immigration.
