WASHINGTON (AP) -- He was a first-term senator-turned-president, a former law professor with little experience in economics or management. When he entered the White House he had one essential task: piece together the shards of a shattered U.S. economy.
It wasn't smooth and it wasn't fast. But President Barack Obama will leave behind, by most measures, an economy far stronger than the one he inherited. Unemployment is 4.6 percent, a nine-year low. Stocks keep setting highs. An additional 20 million Americans have health insurance coverage. The nation has shifted toward cleaner energy sources: natural gas, wind and solar.

BWAHAHAHAHA.. BS
The Economy has been dragged down by his regulatory and tax hikes and employment all but ended thanks to Obamacare...
He’s a failure.. pure and simple
Trump will have 4%+ growth in less than 12 months
Healed?
As in a dog healing, no new jobs?
Quite right.
Revising Leftist terminology misses the mark IMO. Go for the jugular and stick with what it is in plain English. The Left hates plain English.
It’s LIES and the Left are LIARS.
“False News” is a term close enough to the Fake News idea to give the Left “wiggle room.”
Fake news implies a subjective opinion about whats being said. Gives them wiggle room which theyre always looking for (because theyre snakes). Fake news can be argued based on personal opinion about relevancy, professionalism, etc.
A published LIE is an objective standard comparing what was said with the facts. A lie isnt based on personal opinion but whether what was published as true was actually an objective fact. What happens in a court of law regardless of personal opinion. The Left does not want people to go there. Actually has something to do with the truth, something the Left wants nothing to do with.
We should judge the Lying Left and their Media Minions based on the standard of published LIES, not on their standard of fake news or a hybrid thereof.
This seems to fall into the category expressed by, “The operation was a success but the patient died.”
Hey, it might have even been perceptible!
In October 1987, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 28.3% in a week (much of it on a single ‘Black Monday’). If you are old enough, you may have vague memories of that “stock market crash”. The media did it’s best to convince us that Reagan had led the U.S. and the world into a second Great Depression, but the public didn’t buy it. The stock market soon recovered, and the Reagan boom continued steadily throughout the remainder of the 80’s and into the 90’s.
During the week of September 15, 2008, the DJIA dropped 21% in one week, a smaller drop than the 1987 crash. The difference this time was that the crash occurred in the middle of a presidential election campaign. The democrats and the media immediately proclaimed this as the start of the “Great Recession”. McCain (who was ahead of Obama by 2.5% in the RCP average of polls on September 11, 2008) happily played along, suspending his campaign and returning to Washington to pretend that government was the answer to such a grave crises.
The rest is history. McCain dropped like a rock in the polls and never led again. The media continued the narrative that Obama was heroically combating the Great Recession, through a trillion dollars of wasteful spending; federal takeovers of the finance, automobile and healthcare industries; and massive amounts of regulation that destroyed other industries. If the economy remained anemic for eight long years, the only possible explanation was that there wasn’t enough regulation and federal government control.
Had we treated the 2008 stock market crash like the 1987 crash, and let the market recover on its own, it would already be little more than a vague memory. Because the media was able to seize control of the narrative in the midst of a Presidential campaign, we have suffered through a lost decade economically. Most people under 30 don’t even remember what a good or average economy feels like.
He was never a professor. Didn’t read any further.
Trying to recall where I got it, thought it was Weasel Zippers but have not tracked it down yet. Could have been Drudge, it was one of those two as I read no others to speak of.
This writer should be in a nut house.
Their not lying - the truth just changed ya see
They are in full fledged Obama historical record mode now.
Generally everything they write is a lie. The figures they cite are official iles.
The economy did not heal, far from it. It sucks.
Um...where’s the fake news alert?
Josh Book, professional boot licker.
Book=Boak
(damn you, auto-correct!)
Thanks for your efforts
Piece stars off with a lie. Obama was NOT a “Professor” and never carried that title.
Obama was never a professor; he was a lecturer. He did not have the qualifications to be a professor. Obama never published a single law paper. He was hired by the University of Chicago when they learned he had been given a book contract on race and law directly after graduating from Harvard. There was no book just the contract, which he later reneged on. This is not the normal level of accomplishment for a University of Chicago professor or even lecturer.
Obama was not capable of writing, and eventually, after failing to deliver, he changed it to a memoir, which he also struggled with. Finally, he asked Bill Ayers to write his memoir for him, using tapes that Michelle dropped off at the Ayerses’.
