Dear Reader (and those of you with better things to do), There have been times in the past when Ive gotten crosswise with certain segments of the conservative base and/or with the readership of National Review. And, because, like the Elephant Man, I am a not an animal but a human being, I have always had at least some self-doubt. Thats as it should be.
People who share principles should not only hear each other out when they disagree; they should be able to see each others points and hold open the possibility that ones opponents have the better argument.
Maybe you just like him. On that, we can respectfully disagree, as there is no accounting for taste. Perhaps you just like his musk and the way it assaults your nostrils, which is fitting, given his line of cologne. Fine.
I ON THE OTHER HAND, FIND HIM TEDIOUS, TACKY, AND TRITE. HE'S A BORE WHO OVERCOMPENSATES FOR HIS INSECURITIES BY TALKING ABOUT HOW AWESOME HE IS, OFTEN IN THE THIRD PERSON. JONAH CAN'T STAND THAT. YOU SEE THE NEXT TEDDY ROOSEVELT AND ALL I SEE IS SOMEONE WHO TALKS BIG AND CARRIES A SMALL SCHTICK.

Hmm I don’t recall any NeverBush movement...I guess they think Trump is worse than someone who led us to the economic abyss?
What’s Weekly Standard?
:)
True. Add to that Peggy Noonan, Steve Hayes, George Will, Kruthammer, Megyn Kelly and of course the idiot Glenn.
Trump is ‘wrong’ because when they go to fancy cocktail parties, it doesn’t feel comfortable to say you were for Trump. They wanted someone who could play the part of president on TV, like Rubio or Romney.
It was all about style over substance.
That was unreadable. I can’t believe he gets paid to write.
Same with me.
I don’t get this douche. He seems to think he can spend an entire article peppering colorful words like sprinkles on a donut, and never say anything.
Who the F@CK cares what JG says, and why the hell does he take 1000 words to say nothing?
I recant, he plays the VICTIM card well. What a slime.
This asshat intellectual would be asking “do you want fries with that?” If he wasn’t Lucianne Goldberg’s son.
Jonah is not a “crypto liberal.” His complaints about trump are directly on point where Trump has not been consistently conservative or just erratic.
His points are legitimate.
His overreaction to these legit points are where he is mistaken.
This guy is the main reason why I dumped NRO long ago, and of course they sealed the deal when they came out against Trump altogether.
The article today, is an unremorseful, hateful, poor me, silly attempt at trying to show that he’s relevant. Sorry, Jonah, you are irrelevant.

YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
“HE’S A BORE WHO OVERCOMPENSATES FOR HIS INSECURITIES BY TALKING ABOUT HOW AWESOME HE IS, OFTEN IN THE THIRD PERSON.”
Trump, IMO, is awesome, and I like it that he knows he is.
I agree 100% with you.
Who cares that Jonah doesn’t like Trump? Jonah wasn’t criticizing GWB or helping the Tea Party movement before Trump came along.
Jonah Goldberg must think people wait eagerly to find out what he thinks, and feel comforted when he bestows his smile upon them.
Same here with me. I am left only with Drudge and Free Republic. I use to have 6 or 7.
“Transgenders” do have rights. They have the right to psychological treatment for their delusions.
We dodged a bullet last month, with no help from turds like Goldberg. There are serious times and he cranks out this drivel.
Like the other #nevertrumper NR, Weekly Standard, et al. neo-cons, he would have been happy to lose with Grampa Cruz and we would have been looking at President Clinton today.
Goldberg is a punk. NR is punk.
Trump has an opinion and tweets about it. Sometimes he is very pointed in his comments on people and policy.
Jonah has an opinion and gets paid to write about it. Sometimes he is very pointed in his comments on people and policy.
Jonah thinks Trump is a bully, a malcontent, and unhinged, because he does it.
When Jonah does it, he doesn’t see it as the act of a bully, thinks he’s very reasoned and a level headed guy.
The things Jonah hates about Trump most, are mostly what Jonah is, but Trump is so much more. He has a record of accomplishment and massive success.
The public needs to hear what Trump is thinking. It has bearing on the direction America is headed. It has bearing on the accuracy of comments negative to Trump and his policies. It affects our nation.
The public doesn’t need to hear some burnt out jealous writer who has not only lost his edge, he’s pretty much lost it. (more than his edge)
