‘Heroin is the worst thing in the world’
Boston Globe ^ | 12/18/16 | Allen

The story fit the grim emerging genre of the opioid epidemic: addicted caregivers who imperil their young children, their very public failings instantly held up for excoriation on social media. Tamara and Jacob had abruptly been added to a national tableau, fused in the popular imagination with the Ohio couple slowly turning blue in their SUV while a 4-year-old watched from his carseat; the Milwaukee pair revived with Narcan in front of the woman’s 2-year-old son; the woman who overdosed in the toy aisle of a Lawrence dollar store, while her toddler wailed and pulled at her arm.

Much less visible are the lives behind the headlines, especially of those who are trying to help the broken get whole again, and to bring life and hope to the children.

A lot of things in the world are bad. Heroin abuse. (Yes I said abuse... it used to be a respected medicine.) Meth abuse. (It still is a recognized medicine in a few contexts.) Political abuse. They all will invite their own destruction, perhaps accompanied by the political restriction of natural rights in an attempt to curb them.

But the thing that is guaranteed to kill in misery is to say, along with the fool: No God. Want to go to hell as a society? Do just that.

I had some crack for breakfast this morning. It's the best.

Hateful demoncrats are the worst.

Leftism is the worst thing in the world.

And it is just as addictive as Heroin.

There’s a Hobson’s choice. Either one is horrible beyond belief.

Want to fix the problem? Sell DRUGS, go to jail for 10 years, no exceptions, sell it again and go to jail for 29 years, no exceptions. Do it a third time, you die in jail.

That solution is grotesque and crude, but correct.

It’s intentional. The globalists are doing to us what they did to the Chinese during the Opium Wars. Only on several fronts.

After 30+ years of helping addicts I conclude street meth, lab meth, and alcohol are by far the 3 worse and most destructive. Then tobacco and prescription drugs for number of deaths, health problems and social problems. Next the designer drugs like bath salts. Then cracking coca in. ..then heroin.

I hope you’re wrong. My son was introduced to meth by his business partner as help to get through working long hours. He ended up losing his business, his family, his house and his sanity. It was awful to watch. It was like he had schizophrenia after awhile and looked like a skeleton, and he ended staying with either me or his sister and it was awful for us to have to deal with.
he somehow quit without rehabilitation and he has been doing great for a few years now. I pray everyday he will never go back.

Meth addicts can fully recover, know lots that are free for years. I admit I was surprised how healthy they are considering what they did to their brains.

I have a family member who is 121 days clean from meth, she will be fully healthy with God’s help.

I lost a fiend to heroin decades ago.
He went from a funny, hard working, friendly, talented, smart person to a hopeless addict within months.
A couple of years later he ‘disappeared’, no one knew where he was - not even his family.

I will never forget the massive change in behavior, health, hygene and attitude that all occurred the first 1-2 months.
I miss him. I really do.
