Democrats who are having trouble getting out of the first stage of grief — denial — aren't being helped by the fact that, now that all the votes are counted, Hillary Clinton's lead in the popular vote has topped 2.8 million, giving her a 48% share of the vote compared with Trumps 46%.
To those unschooled in how the United States selects presidents, this seems totally unfair. But look more closely at the numbers and you see that Clinton's advantage all but disappears.
As we noted in this space earlier, while Clinton's overall margin looks large and impressive, it is due to Clinton's huge margin of victory in one state — California — where she got a whopping 4.3 million more votes than Trump.
California is the only state, in fact, where Clinton's margin of victory was bigger than President Obama's in 2012 — 61.5% vs. Obama's 60%.
But California is the exception that proves the true genius of the Electoral College — which was designed to prevent regional candidates from dominating national elections.

Yeah that’s what happens when they allow illegal aliens to vote in this state..of course she won California, easily..illegals came out by the truck load to vote for her..take out CA and Trump wins the popular vote easily

If its brought up remind them that a majority of the nation voted against her. She only own a plurality, not a majority.
The illegal vote here is and is always massive. The voter fraud here gets worse every single election. They’ve gotten away with disenfranchising our votes for decades, so much so that they have no fear of getting caught.
I want this brought to a screeching halt.

California does NOT ask for ID.
No, illegals cannot vote. But they do no ask for ID.
Trump won the popular vote in 30 states.
Clinton, 20 states.
Those popular votes are the ones that count, not the cumulative total popular votes.
We can expel the illegals, and it will make it a lot more even. Trump won't win California next time, but he would win the popular vote.

You can not live in CA without thinking that a rock solid 1 MM illegal votes were cast, and if the real number was 2 MM or more, it would and should be no surprise at all. IBD also makes a good point that Republicans understand in this state that their vote means nothing. In many races there are no GOP candidates even running, they have zero chance for victory, none. There are no Republicans running for Senator.
At the DMV it is Illegal to ask illegals their immigration status when they apply for a drivers license and they are essentially automatically registered to vote at the same time eg; “motor voter”. I mean, this is not rocket science, there is a deliberate state-sponsored mandate to register illegals in CA. CA is utterly done, if there is any hope of a turnaround just to being neutral, never mind any kind of shot at conservatism; it will take at least 2 generations.
They hand out the voter cards when you register or sign for a drivers license at the DMV. Obviously, we had a law where anyone can drive a car here in mexifornia regardless if you are legal or not.
