Donald Trumps victory in the presidential election shocked climate scientists and policymakers after a campaign in which Trump had suggestedfalselythat climate change was a hoax and vowed to largely undo federal and international measures aimed at addressing global warming.
Nonetheless, climate advocates took solace in the days following the election, noting that the market forces largely responsible for the shift away from coal and the incontrovertible science supporting climate regulations would remain true regardless of who was President. But in the six weeks since the election, Trumps transition team has suggested that the incoming administration will not simply challenge the Obama administrations policies but will also launch an attempt to undermine the years of science underpinning them. Such an effort could have major implications for the credibility of U.S. government dataand the ability of the world to fight global warming.
Its very damaging because it undermines the public confidence in scientists and government, says Christine Todd Whitman, who served as EPA administrator under George W. Bush from 2001 to 2003, of Trumps approach to science. When you start to undermine that public confidence, it can have long-term damaging consequences.

Go, Trump. GO!!
Not to worry. He and his people will only throw out the bad work. There will still be several research grants left...
Yeee Haw!
The fraudsters, thieves and con-artists involved in all this should be dragged in to court, both criminal and civil until there’s nothing left of them.
Their work is undermining the economy of the developed world by shaming us into adopting the lifestyle of the Third World.
We sent him to the WH to undermine their work!
Needless to say this is HUGH and SERRIUS.
I sure hope so.
These “scientists” will have nothing to worry about if their work is valid. However, it’s pretty tempting to skew some data if a big grant and accolades await.
Oh, what a shame!
“Nonetheless, climate advocates took solace in the days following the election, noting that the market forces largely responsible for the shift away from coal and the incontrovertible science supporting climate regulations would remain true...”
Lol!
Yeah, those “market forces largely responsible” had absolutely nothing to do with those “climate regulations” now did they?
LOL
The author of this tripe is obviously a complete moron.
Had a friend who taught scientists at the CDC how to write reports. This was in the 1980 when AIDS was the big deal. He told me that AIDS was far overblown, that the only reason it was given any credibility was to get research grants. You could be studying hangnails but if you wanted a grant, you had to relate it to AIDS. And, at CDC, if you didn’t have a grant, you didn’t get paid.
Climate change is the new AIDS.
Yup, they have little time left to destroy and alter data, demonstrate their complete lack of knowledge of physics, error bars, dynamics, heat transfer (and thousands more STEM tools) and their mastery of their only talent: getting government grants from one of the few groups having lower talent than they.
(s)MANBEARPIG will rage unchecked!!!!! Think of the children!!!!(/s)

Its very damaging because it undermines the public confidence in scientists and government,

It’s very upsetting to them to have their rigged science scrutinized. They worked very hard to convince people that the faked data was true.
The fact that there has been no warming for 17 years and rendered all of the models wrong doesn’t bother them as much as anyone questioning their “science”.
“Climate Scientists Fear Trump May Fatally Undermine Their Fat Government Grants and the Scam That Provides Them”
Well, the Democrats could just introduce a modified thermometer, and change the readings about 3 degrees...Water would then start freezing at 35 degrees. It might work. They might change the sea level with some act of Congress and a big $$ Conference of money spent in Oslo
Their work is propaganda and delusion.
I hereby declare it is “settled science” that we will have an infinite number of fearful, unhinged headlines for the next 8 years.
